Welcome to Wikipedia[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. You may want to take a look at the welcome page, tutorial, and stylebook, avoiding common mistakes and Wikipedia is not pages.

I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers such as yourself:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --File:Ottawa flag.png Spinboy 21:28, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Circumcision[edit]

Hi. Rather than simply reverting the circumcision article again, could you perhaps discuss your changes on the article's talk page? There is quite a lot in your package of changes, and it looks to me like the current consensus is against them. Perhaps by discussing them you can bring people around to your point of view. Thanks, Nandesuka 11:41, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Three revert rule[edit]

Please be aware of the three revert rule. You may not revert a page more than 3 times in any 24-hour period.

You have now done so four times:

  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Circumcision&oldid=26853418
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Circumcision&oldid=26879684
  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Circumcision&oldid=26879979
  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Circumcision&oldid=26880855 (with a personal attack in the edit summary) Jakew 14:30, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your mysterious comment. As you've now read my user page, you'll doubtless be aware that your bizarre assumption was incorrect. It would be awfully nice if you would concentrate on edits rather than editors. Jakew 14:41, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re: revision "breaking all the rules"[edit]

Yeah well, you've been reverting my edits for weeks now. Go fuck yourself.

Image Tagging Image:Clitcirc.gif[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Clitcirc.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.98.101 14:44, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
