Why are you here?

  1. You are hacked off because I nominated one of your articles for deletion - This isn't the place to discuss it, I strongly suggest taking it up in the appropriate AfD discussion or on the articles talk page.
  2. You are replying to a message I left on your talk page - Don't reply here! Reply on your talk page, I'll be watching!
  3. You want to discuss an article - If it is an article I have previously contributed to, it is likely to be on my watchlist, consider starting a discussion there instead, it may generate more discussion from outside parties.
  4. You think I'm harassing you - Unlikely. I have over 20,000 pages on my watchlist, including every UK place, road, bus operator and bus route (and most rail articles). If you edit the same group of articles, we are bound to bump into each other!
  5. You actually wish to talk to me - Welcome! You are in the right place, start a new discussion at the bottom of the page!

A448 Road

[edit]

I saw the cluebot revert... weird to say the least ChiragPatnaik (talk) 17:54, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just trying to sort everything out! Jenuk1985 (talk) 17:57, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Could be that these articles should be "road" with a lowercase "r". You've effectively done a cut-and-paste move there in the confusion. 217.36.107.9 (talk) 16:28, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A30 road

[edit]

You undid my edit about the A30 in west Cornwall, the article says that the road returns to single carriageway from Hayle to Penzance but the single carriageway section starts just west of Camborne and bypasses Connor Downs and Hayle. The Camborne to St Erth section is new build though and it only retruns to the original route from St Erth to Penzance. ZoeL (talk) 15:29, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry upon re-reading your edit was more clear, and my revert was wrong. Jenuk1985 (talk) 17:24, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

B1149 road

[edit]

Hi Jenuk1985

Can I pleases direct you to the comments onTalk:B1149 road Stavros1 (talk) 18:20, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again Jenuk1985

This is a far different reason to the example that you use. Norwich is the only city in Norfolk and as Holt is a town were many people commute to the city for there work, with the consequence that this particular road is as busy as any of the A Roads that feed into the city. The roundabout close to Norwich Airport were the B1149 joins the A140 from Cromer, most mornings has a long queue of traffic waiting to join the A road into Norwich, many mornings, far exceeding the queue on the A140 Cromer road. There has already been some discussion already about this road along with the other B roads in Norfolk such as the B1159 road,B1156 road, B1436 road, the last two, I notice you have also tagged. Three of these pages had to be protected as one editor was not happy to go along with a consensus that had already been reached by several contributors to these pages, and an administrator, so I would like to know why you feel you must stir this up once more. And as I am sure you are aware there has been much discussion at UK Roads Wikiproject were the consensus is never going to be reached as opinions are very 50-50 concerning ‘B’ roads.  stavros1  ♣  22:04 28 September 2008 (UTC).

...and hello to you.

A45 and Tesco

[edit]

You are very much mistaken; there is no Tesco Distribution center in Daventry. There is one at the industrial estate at the M1 at crick and a new distribution center at the freight terminal at kilsby although the terminal is called Daventry Freight terminal, neither of which are on or near the A45.Demax (talk) 14:02, 25 November 2008 (UTC) By the way I live in Daventry[reply]

[1] This web-page shows the distribution center at Dirft with the M1 running across the back of it . this is abour five miles from where the A45 passes through the town of Daventry. I do not mean to be perdantic but the information about tesco’s really has no bearing on the A45 articleDemax (talk) 14:15, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A45

[edit]

If you check I think you’ll find that the one in Daventry you mention was a tempory measure whilst the one a drift was being built. I think you’ll find the one in Daventry town is now closed. Even so the fact his hardly relevant to the A45 Article when you have not even include the major factories in the town such as Cummins, who after Fords are probably the next biggest employers and have manufacturing and distribution warehouse in the town. You have also failed to mention the massive Netto Distribution dept which is actually adjacent to the A45. If you are going to include irrelevances like these please do it with the right balance?. Personally I think they need not be in the article at all, except maybe to mention that Daventry is a major distribution centre.Demax (talk) 19:17, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Tibbett & Britten, the logistics group who handle some of Tesco’s business did lease out part of the former Argos warehouse on Royal Oak Industrial Estate for there Tesco contract but this closed some time ago, and in any case is not strictly a Tesco’s Warehouse as other distribution networks for other business were carried out in the same building.Demax (talk) 19:28, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A45

[edit]

I don’t wish to get into some sort of edit war with you about what is after all one word in an article that is a very small issue on this page, but seeing your insistence for attention to detail and your history of reverting other peoples edits on other road pages, I would have thought you would have been happy for somebody to correct old information. As I have tried to point out to you, having local knowledge of Daventry, I can tell you that there is and has never been a Tesco warehouse in Daventry. Only a Tebbit & Britten Logistics company that handled Tesco work for a period of time. I am sure you must know this if you worked there. It closed some time ago and unless you can come up with some new information to prove that there is a Tesco Distribution centre in Daventy today (November 2008) I suggest that you post it on the A45 talk page. I will not bother to engage in any edits on this page because of your bad attitude and I will not respond to you if you continue to make vailed threats as you have on my talk page. such a trivial point is not worth falling out over.Demax (talk) 21:31, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

3RR

[edit]

I am also duty-bound to make you aware of WP:3RR. You are also reminded that onus is upon you to provide actual evidence of the Tesco information to support your reverts. What you have provided so far is nowhere near adequate. "claims of working at the warehouse’’ is not evidence of the distribution warehouse still operating Therefore, I suggest that you either provide further evidence in short order, or you leave Tesco out of the articleDemax (talk) 21:59, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources

[edit]

You might like to read up on reliable sources. I removed the reference to "pathetic motorways" because it fails the tests for a reliable source, since it includes personal opinion of an unidentified source of no known authority, does not have any evidence of a peer review or content approval mechanism and so on; you accuse me of a "vendetta" and I'd be interested to hear what evidence you have to support that since I certainly am not aware of having a vendetta against a site that I had never heard of before yesterday. Guy (Help!) 12:18, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure there are many thousands, if not millions of sites which are linked from Wikipedia which don't have a 'peer review' system in place. In fact which ones do? You'll be preventing people from linking to the BBC News site soon because it sometimes has opinion pieces.

Personal vendatta? You bet it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.32.40.22 (talk) 10:15, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
