"copyright violation"[edit]

As per Wikipedia:User page, "...avoid substantially editing another's user page without their permission". You are correct that in general, one should not remove the copyright violation notice. However, there are several reasons to suggest that this was not a good-faith nomination. One, there was only one line of disputed material (this would normally just be removed from an article; the entire article would not have to be deleted and started fresh). Two, the "source" you list does not seem to own the copyright either. Three, you yourself did not follow the directions and list the page for consideration on WP:CP. Four, you have an extensive history of vandalizing User:SPUI's user page, and it looks like you've been vandalizing User:Thryduulf and User:Ugen64 as well. Please don't edit others' user pages. If you are concerned about the copyright status of the line on SPUI's page, I'd be happy to help explore its legality with you. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thanks! — Knowledge Seeker 01:17, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your response. SPUI ignored my message, or at least he elected not to respond to it. I wish he would have taken that off his user page, or at least responded to my request, but he is within his rights not to do so. User pages are under the control of the user, at least until enough people complain. That doesn't seem likely in this case. — Knowledge Seeker 05:47, August 18, 2005 (UTC)

User Pages[edit]

Please do not vandalize user pages. This is a serious violation. You have been warned.--Jondel 09:06, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
