Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. April Masini deletion discussion.[edit]

I would just ignore the COI accusations at the AfD. They are not at all relevent in determining whether a topic is notable. If you want to save the article from being deleted, the best thing to do is to find as many independent, reliable sources about April Masini. Signing Posts on Discussion Pages[edit]

The four tildes are supposed to be put at the end of the text that you write on discussion pages, not at the end of your edit summaries. I've noticed that you've been putting them in edit summaries (which does nothing but add the 4 tildes to the summaries), and leaving them out of your actual text. If you add it to the actual text it will post your signature. For example, I am going to type for tildes here -> MisterRichValentine (talk) 20:26, 22 March 2012 (UTC) ... and there you have it - it threw in my signature for me.[reply]

The AfD for April Masini is almost unreadable - a lot of that is because Bromeliad39 has decided to add his responses to your comments in the middle of your text, which certainly doesn't help. But if you started signing posts properly it would help clean up the discussion a bit.

And yes I agree with A Quest for Knowledge, ignore the COI accusations on the AfD. I did mention the COI accusation for another user in the nom because I felt it was important, as I knew CMHayes was going to come charging into the discussion. But really, AfD is not the place to discuss COI's, and all the extra text that has resulted in the COI discussion may discourage other users from !voting on the topic at hand. Oh my.... So sorry MisterRichValentine, I'm obviously very new to posting on wiki (and quickly proving to be a menace). How embarrassing.. Is there anything I can do to clean up my portion of the mess? I feel like the little girl who left her clothes thrown all around her room only to have company arrive and witness her mess. AQFK and MisterRichValentine, I wonder if you two would be so kind as to please help me understand what I should be doing here.... 1) Am I to post my replies to messages left for me, here, on my Talk page? Or am I to go to the Talk page of the person who left the message for me? Sorry if this seems like is a stupid question, but I want to be sure I'm posting in the proper place. 2) In determining whether or not an article gets deleted, does the deciding administrator review the additional references listed on the Talk page when making the evaluation or do they just look at the references listed on the article itself? 3) In other words, should I be posting the references I've listed on the Articles for deletion/April Masini page (to support not deleting the article) on the actual article in addition to the Talk page? The references I've posted (in addition to many others I’ve found) are missing from the actual article and it is possible that some who currently feel the page should be deleted might feel differently if the references I've listed on the Talk page were on the article page. Replies to posts at AfD should be made at AfD if they are relevent. The only issue at AfD is whether the topic is notable. COI and personal attack accusations have nothing to do with notability. Keep any off-topic comment brief or save it for the accuser's talk page. The deciding admin should be looking at all references, but you should make it easy for them to find. If you claim that USA Today published an article but fail to provide a link to the article, then the closing admin might conclude that there is no evidence that USA Today published such an article. IOW, post links to as many places as possible, include the AfD, the article talk page and integrate the link into the article itself. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 00:44, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry AQFK, but I don't know what IOW means? Also, is it legal to post pdf files of something like the relevant pages to a Miss Universe Pageant Program so long as the reader can easily tell the pages are legitimately from the official program? That is not something not available online, but I can obtain a copy of it. The same question applies to articles from hard copy magazines and or articles that may no longer be available online, assuming I am able to clearly document where they are from.

I read on the COI page that if one has a COI (or even the potential to have a perceived CIO) they should seek out someone to assist in editing an article who is clearly neutral with no risk of being perceived to have COI, especially if the article has a high risk of being contested. Clearly that is the case here. How would I go about finding such a person to help me?

Finally, how long do I have to research and post these references and links?

You will see that I want to rewrite the April Masini article, but these pdf files are giving me trouble, thus I am afraid to move from the sandbox to the article -- and the reason this pdf it is appears not to fit the content.
