One minute between me putting {{stub}} on Riptides and you sorting it. Crikey you're fast! - David Gerard 12:07, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll say. Exceptional Collector Award was tagged within 27 minutes of me creating it! Nice work. It's been a while since I was wikipedia-ing and I'm still catching up on the newer policies. Cheers. Alcarillo 19:04, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. You've also inspired me:

Also, thank you for sorting the stub I put up on Invented Here - I reckoned the simplest way to get the right stub was just to put "stub" there and someone would magically fix it for me. And sure enough, you did! Thanks! Ringbark 17:28, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

is there a place that showns all kinds of this "specific stubs"? Szczur Zosia 06:35, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Fête champêtre any more a "vocab" stub than any ohter word in the English language, every word is vocab surely? Giano 18:03, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for Your Useful Stub Avice

[edit]

I'm one of those relatively new Wikipedians who's learning his Wikipedianism Technology by the inefficient, but ancient, trial and error method. Perhaps today, because you have indirectly reminded me, I'll go the Barnes and Noble to see if there exists a text with the title of Wikipedia for Dummies--there was not a couple of months ago.

Anyway, I appreciate your taking the time to give me the Link to the specific stubs .
Have a Nice Day, Dear Wikipedian! Ludvikus 18:02, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you as well. I've updated the other new articles I've created with your suggestion. --JereKrischel 13:25, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to see you working!

  • Regarding the above, I was VERY SURPRISED that WP did not even have a stub on it!!
    • Now I would like to recommend that it also become a Category!!!
Yours truly, Ludvikus 13:55, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GRAPE flagged for Deletion

[edit]

Thanks for your attention to my recent stub, GRAPE supercomputers. I have reformatted and somewhat expanded the article, and written a rebuttal (to the deletion threat) on The discussion page. It is at risk for deletion, so I would appreciate your feedback. Pete St.John 17:47, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

[edit]

Hello. Firstly, I created the article as a redirect, and have reverted it to be a redirect. Secondly, I find that leaving template messages for long-time users tends to be unhelpful. I've been an admin here for almost a year, and I know what speedy deletion is. I appreciate that you took the time to inform me of the tagging, but I would have appreciated it more if you had taken the time to realise that I created the article as a redirectd (and possibly reverted it to the redirect yourself), and that a simple "Article Q has been nominated for speedy deletion" would have been sufficient. Thanks, Mak (talk) 16:46, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jeodesic! Great work on Category:stubs. I realized you were actively working on the category when I had a bunch of stubs open for editing. By the time I got to them, you had already fixed them. Cheers! — jmorgan (talk) 22:15, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About your messages of Holy Crystal Albatross

[edit]

Thankyou for your messages about Holy Crystal Albatross and I'm sorry this time's wrong writing. I read your messages but I couldn't understand it well because I'm Japanese student. Can I write Holy Crystal Albatross again? What should I do? Please teach me. Is only to add the story OK? I am going to try to write the page and story again someday (Maybe yesterday.) . If I have a wrong , please delete or edit it and write about it here. --Shoxp 14:03, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When considering whether to write an article, you need to think about the subect's notability - there's a similar document at the Japanese Wikipedia, which you can find under "In other languages" at the left of the page. Jeodesic 14:12, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your messages. I understood. So next time , I am going to try make the topic (Albatross). I'll learn "|notability" and do it. Thank you. --Shoxp 02:59, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TSS

[edit]

I have responded to your concerns at the article's discussion page. Darkahn 14:58, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Tetracontakaihenagon, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —David Eppstein 03:30, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs

[edit]

Sorry. I missed that stub type on the list. I had actually just noted it as I saw your sorting on my watchlist, the next article I create will have the right type. Promise. : ) IvoShandor 12:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot.

A tag has been placed on Sponsers of Manchester United, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Sponsers of Manchester United is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Sponsers of Manchester United, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi, fellow stub sorter!

[edit]

Good to see someone else trying to clear the backlog. Any idea why it's gotten so huge? -=- Xhin -=- 16:38, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Mostly because of automated stub-tagging, though I could claim it's because I sorted less over the summer... Jeodesic 17:02, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stub Sorting

[edit]

How do you add a specific stub as opposed to {{stub}}. Kaeso Dio 14:44, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A list of specific stub tags can be found here, simply use the relevant stub type, eg. {{UK-struct-stub}} instead of the more general {{stub}}. Jeodesic 11:28, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Link aswell. Always a bonus. Kaeso Dio 09:49, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stub sorting

[edit]

Thanks for the tip! I'll surely do as you suggest. My stubs don't generally remain stubs for very long, really just putting that template in there so everyone can see that I'm aware of what I'm doing. I save frequently, as I'm nervous about losing large chunks of an article, and sometimes I need to leave the computer for a few hours, but the article should be finished by the end of the day. (I'm not making excuses for not properly "stubbing", just thought I'd put in writing my methodology. These are the Tony Award articles, easy to do but quite tedious!) Thanks again, JeanColumbia 13:25, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

why dont you delete all these too

[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coddled_egg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fried_egg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiled_egg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omelette http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poached_egg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrambled_eggs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirred

or, hey, try ADDING something to an article instead of just going around deleting them! what an idea!

I haven't deleted the article, (nor can I), I merely agreed with another user who proposed its deletion. In the case of eg. boiled egg or fried egg, the articles consist of more than simply a recipe, including regional variations and cultural references. However, the main reason is that I don't go around looking for pages to propose for deletion. Jeodesic (talk) 15:31, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Capgun Coup

[edit]

You had speedily deleted the Capgun Coup article I had written, even though it meets criterion 1 from WP:BAND, "It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable." I'd have added the references, only the article was deleted mere hours after the notability complaint was made. "Be Bold" doesn't work when it requires occasional editors to sit at the computer watching over an article so it's not deleted in the few hours between logging into Wikipedia. --Ldrhcp 07:08, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, I'm not an admin, I only nominated the article, when it gets deleted is out of my hands and varies (fastest is ~5 mins) but I always try to warn the article creator ASAP. Secondly, I too only spend a lmited time editing, so if I see an article I think should be nominated, I do it at the time. Jeodesic 22:39, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So that's what you have to do. Thanks! J-ſtanTalkContribs 22:33, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah thanks for letting me know, I was actually filling red-links from a list I was working on here so I have to admit my mind was more on the list then the stub pages I was making; that was one thing I forgot about those stubs. Thanks for catching it and I'll make sure to be more specific in the future. Thanks for your work and good luck editing!
