Speedy deletion nomination of Canisius March[edit]

Hello Respublika Narodnaya,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Canisius March for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Information icon Hello, I'm Iryna Harpy. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Communist party, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.
Please note that the two maps you've created (one citing no reliable sources; the simply citing Reddit) are not acceptable for use in articles. I understand that you've created these in good faith, but they simply can't be used unless they are based on reliable sources.

@Iryna Harpy:Thanks for the announcement.--Respublika Narodnaya (talk) 03:12, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. I'm sure you didn't just make them up. It would be useful if you could find the links to the sources you used for the CommunistPartyMap.png and let me know what they are. Anyway, I've put them on my watchlist on Wiki Commons, but I won't be nominating them for deletion. If good sources can be found to back them up, they could be a useful resource. I think it's a matter of improving on them. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:35, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Iryna Harpy:No. The other map, I really make it. Before I enter Wikipedia. I'm quite active in Reddit as r/FULLCOMMUNISM.--Respublika Narodnaya (talk) 03:52, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, I see. You must have used sources for the map. Do you remember what they were? --Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:59, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Iryna Harpy: Pure. Wikipedia.
Yes, I understand. The problem is that WP:WINARS applies. It requires independent WP:SECONDARY sources. Oh, well. Good try, anyway! Happy editing! --Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:14, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Iryna Harpy:So, I must use the external links and sources stated in the article?
I know it sounds complicated, but yes. Adding the external sources you've used on the Wiki Commons files (in the sources section) will provide other editors with reliable sources they can verify when checking the maps. It's a bit of a headache, but you've obviously put a lot of work into compiling the information and creating the maps so it's worth the little bit of extra work to show where the information has come from. Remember that, in the future, these maps are likely to change (i.e., let's say that countries that have outlawed communism change their policy, while other countries change policies, etc.): you may not be available to make the appropriate changes to the map, but there is a record of sources for other editors to check against on Commons. This will ensure that updates to the .png can be applied (with the new source/s replacing the old source/s) ensuring the most accurate and contemporary map Wikipedia can provide. Do you have a copy of the basic maps you used, or have you used existing blank maps available at Commons? If it's a pre-existing Commons map, add a link to it as the source map. If you've created your own, upload that (or those) maps for future use. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:55, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
