Conflict of Interest rules

[edit]

It appears based on your user name that you may have a Conflict of Interest in editing the Alpha Gamma Delta page. Please follow the suggestions there. Your edits don't appear to be problematic (and my first edits were somewhat similar , Alphabetizing the alumni list for example), but I thought I'd reach out to you. Please feel free to continue your work while keeping the requirements in mind. Happy Editing!Naraht (talk) 17:45, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Naraht! I work in the communications department at Alpha Gamma Delta and have been trying to clean up the formatting, punctuation and some information falsely previously listed in the Notable Alumni area. Would you recommend I change my username? --Jfthompson agd (talk) 18:37, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Your user name is just fine. 'Communications AGD' for example. would be *more* problematic since that might imply that another person would followed you might be using the same account. With working for AGD, you should see WP:PAID for guidance, including what to add to your user page. Also, is User:AlphaGamJFT you as well?Naraht (talk) 19:02, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Naraht ! Jfthompson agd (talk) 15:12, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please let me know if you are also AlphaGamJFT. Also, I'm not sure why the information for Theta Sigma Upsilon was moved and mostly removed.Naraht (talk) 20:41, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am, but I became unable to access it for some reason and created a new one. I'm usually not technically challenged, but I was unable to update any of my contact info in this case. Jfthompson agd (talk) 20:56, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alpha Gamma Delta Mascot

[edit]

Hi! The only source I can find for the quote on Skiouros is a greekchat post which cites something allegedly from an old copy of the Quarterly. Would you be able to find a better source? Thanks. originalmesshow u doin that busta rhyme? 10:31, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I have verified that the quote appears in the Winter 2004 issue of the Quarterly, but this issue is not currently digitally archived online. Should I change the source to a publication?

Swerve... Jfthompson_AGD, please sign your messages... sources don't have to be available online, just accessible with some work, even source beyond paywalls are fine.Naraht (talk) 18:23, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks—I'll update the source! Sorry for the lack of signature - I'm still trying to navigate the WikiWorld. --Jfthompson_AGD

No problem. And in wikipedia, signatures are done by ~ ~ ~ ~ (but without the spaces in between.)Naraht (talk) 22:02, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Of all of the notable alumnae, only Emily Helen Butterfield doesn't have a reference. The article indicates that she is one of AGD's founders, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a source for her membership in AGD, which one do you think would be clearest?Naraht (talk) 23:35, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can that memorial be changed by anyone with a findagrave account?Naraht (talk) 14:43, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea. I will add additional sources, but was looking for something outside Alpha Gamma Delta. --Jfthompson agd (talk) 14:47, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, we both added one. :)

Thanks for your help! --Jfthompson agd (talk) 15:56, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Notables.

[edit]

The reference for a number of the notables on the article is at https://web.archive.org/web/20100825002805/http://www.alphagammadelta.org/AboutAGD/AccomplishedAlphaGams.html (which is means that it is an archive made in 2010 of the webpage https://web.archive.org/web/20100825002805/http://www.alphagammadelta.org/AboutAGD/AccomplishedAlphaGams.html . I took a quick and dirty look (dropped the article into an editor added double brackets and dropped that into a wiki sandbox) and found the following AGD sisters are in that list from the ADG website and aren't on the list on Wikipedia:

I probably missed quite a few, probably due to the wikipedia article name not matching exactly with the name on the AGD website. But if those 7 women are correct, adding them to the AGD wikipedia page would be fine. Additionally, once it gets larger the page could have a split into sections by type of notability like the AGD webpage does. Note, as the list gets longer, there are more complex/formal ways to do this, ending up with List_of_Alpha_Phi_Omega_members and other entries at Category:Lists of members of United States student societiesNaraht (talk) 15:45, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding to the list, going through less quick and dirty...Naraht (talk) 17:09, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Double checked through the end of Business in that list.Naraht (talk) 17:36, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I need to do some research to find out why they are considered notable as I haven't heard of any of these alumnae. Jfthompson agd (talk) 15:02, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well AGD thinks they are notable. I just grabbed the ones that Wikipedia agrees. :)Naraht (talk) 14:16, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
