Hey

[edit]

Note that I've moved your Sharman and Breault articles back to draftspace, because they are full of unsourced statements. They are not ready to be articles. Do not try to make them be articles again until every statement is either sourced or deleted. DS (talk) 21:58, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Status, and COI warning

[edit]
As a reviewer who frequently on articles about academics, I accepted the article, because, except for the high school degree, the material is sourced by his university web page, which is considered sufficiently reliable for plain statements of fact. I added the necessary material to show notability according to WP:PROF which is the high level citations to some of his articles, which is meets the criterion of showing him influential in his subject.
You might possibly have a WP:Conflict of Interest--if you are the subject or his friend or student, it isnot a paid conflict of interest, but still must be declared according to ]]WP:COI]]. If however you have done this as a publicist for the university or as a hired writer, (as might well be the case because your other contribution is a highly promotional article on Andrew Sharman, which has been moved to draft space, and will not be returned to article space unless the promotionalism and puffery is removed) it's a paid conflict of interest, and must be declared with the full procedure at WP:PAID]. If you don't have a conflict of interest, please be aware that you are writing in a promotional manner or copying or paraphrasing promotional material, and this might be confused with a COI.
I note that his university page links to the WP article (before it was moved to draft) and contains what I consider the remarkable and very inappropriate statement "Dr. Breault has been noted in various publications including Wikipedia (one of few faculty members at MTSU to have such a page), " , and listing it on that page as an "award". Having a WP page is not an award, and is not an indication of anything except having met our own peculiar rules for inclusion--which does not necessarily correspond to real-world notability-- and someone being willing to write the page. ,
I am marking the article accordingly, and mentioning this on the article talk page. Even if that statement is removed from his university page, our indication of it on the talk page must remain. DGG ( talk ) 05:49, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
