Gary Cooper[edit]

I notice that you joined Wikipedia five days ago and are a new editor to the site. You may not understand some of the basic guidance. I encourage you to read WP:BASICS as a starting point, and then WP:RELIABLE to learn how to source your edits. Your recent edits constitute edit warring and could lead to a WP:BLOCK. You can ask for clarifications on most issues at Wikipedia:Teahouse. The Gary Cooper article was recently promoted to WP:GA good article status after a fairly extensive improvement effort review. The article is now in WP:PR peer review, where senior editors provide final feedback prior to WP:FA featured article submission. Regarding your edits, I've recently read five Cooper biographies and numerous secondary sources, and none explicitly states the specific cause of death beyond cancer—he had multiple cancers, as the article indicates. When there is no reliable source for a statement, do not make the statement. Even if you personally are a cancer specialist, if you do not have a reliable source as defined in WP:RS, do not make the statement. Regarding his years active, read the guidance for the template. Reliable sources do not state that he ended his acting career in 1960, or even that he did not do any on-screen work in 1961—only that he did his final work doing the narration in March 1961, i.e., reading a script for a documentary and getting paid for that work. I strongly recommend that you self-revert your last edit. Bede735 (talk) 14:57, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cooper died of prostate cancer, because that is where it started before spreading to his colon and then to his lungs. "The Naked Edge", filmed in 1960, it generally considered his final acting work. (JimMacAllistair (talk) 17:33, 25 January 2015 (UTC))[reply]

Reverting at Gary Cooper[edit]

Hi. You are currently at three reverts on this article, please use the talkpages to discuss and resolve issues and not the edit summary when reverting. Keep in mind that Wikipedia has strict rules regarding reverts and edit warring, and if you continue to revert without trying to resolve the issue on Talk:Gary Cooper you will end up being blocked. As a fairly new user here on Wikipedia, you might want to take a look at the essay Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. Bjelleklang - talk 18:55, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
