Jim... if the Ernest Townsend article grew by about 1000 characters or 300 words in the next 48 hours or so then it could go on the main page. I have added a few refs to assist. Are you OK with the help? Have you thought about adding your name here? Victuallers (talk) 19:13, 15 February 2011 (UTC) Victuallers.. Will do some more work later today. The help is much appreciated. User:JimWT[reply]

Great - we will have some issues with the picture as I think its still copyright as 1944+70 years = 2014. i.e. its three years till his picture come out of copyright, but we can include a "fair use" picture anyway. Victuallers (talk) 21:04, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a source for the text you are writing? Articles on the front page need to have references. We may also need to remove speculative sentences as we need to ensure there are no original opinions. (e.g. bit about TV ruining life) Its not that we disagree about this, its about ensuring its encyclopaedic? This article is looking good! I have some pictures of his paintings. I am talking to Derby Museums .... may be I can get their permission to use the images. Victuallers (talk) 20:11, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
See here Jim - your article should be on the main page in 3 to 7 days time. Victuallers (talk) 15:44, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your help and useful guidance V. I believe in all case of the museum's owned pictures the copyright is the property of my father (ernest's son). Agree with comments on opinions etc. Need to sharpen it up a little more. I have much more to add, with lots of great reference materials. Will also get my refs cleared up. User:JimWT
That interesting Jim, I didnt realise he was your grandfather. Good job we were respectful! Is there a possibility that your father would release some images to wikipedia? I guess they will be free anyway in 3-4 years unless the law changes. Derby Museums was looking in to whether they could give us permission, but I guess that trail will run out. Wanting to make contact with JWT[edit]

Hello Jim. I am sure there was not a Wiki' page on Ernest Townsend last time I looked, but I chanced across it today. Excellent! My grandparents were friends of Ernest and Doris, they must have been quite close as they were on my grandmother's wedding guest list (1914), which was relatively modest in size. Both my father and grandmother used to talk about the Campbells as a family, I may be wrong but I think they used to holiday (and/or golf) with them at Nefyn or Porthdinllaen, although I feel sure that no Campbells were still around in Derby in my lifetime (1950 onward). My grandfather was treasurer of the Derby Sketching Club although I feel sure he was no artist. If you are Derby based I would love to meet up with you for a chat sometime. 01332-345342 or 07751-278376 or aspdin@gmail.com Regards Nigel Aspdin (talk) 11:03, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
