Unidentified photographs of the Indian rope trick[edit]

Have you seen these photographs before? [1] or [2], do you have any information about them? I am guessing they were taken in the 1920s. I believe they are in the Harry Price collection but I cannot find any information about them. HealthyGirl (talk) 06:10, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you look here [3] and type in Indian rope trick in the search bar, they are in the Mary Evans Picture Library. I am just interested in your opinion on these photographs. HealthyGirl (talk) 06:15, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have seen them on the Mary Evans site, but I know nothing of them. My guess is that they were staged by British soldiers in India to send back home as "souvenir photos" (the ones with rope, perhaps with a steel rod behind), or are photos of the well known "pole balancing" acrobatic stunt (the one on the beach).--Jim mckeague 09:13, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
