Proposed deletion of Jimmy Alvarez[edit]

The article Jimmy Alvarez has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Autobiography per WP:AUTOBIO, non-notable per WP:BIO, unreferenced

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Per Ardua (talk) 16:55, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Jimmy Alvarez, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jimmy Alvarez. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Per Ardua (talk) 17:01, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article TNN Radio has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 00:47, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as TNN's Alternative Lunch, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. No more articles about yourself and your internet radio shows, please. NawlinWiki (talk) 00:49, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Contacting other editors[edit]

Go to the history section of the article. (On top of the page.) Click on the "talk" next to the name of the editor you wish to contact, click on "start a new topic" (or something like that, I'm not sure) and type whatever you wish to tell them. (Note: guidelines are at WP:Talk pages.) You may also wish to participate in the discussion in the deletion page. Vltava 68 04:42, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jimmy Alvarez, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 16:25, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

July 2009[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 17:42, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. I deleted your article because #It did not provide independent verifiable sources that it meets the notability guidelines.

  1. It lacked any sources or references to verify the content or to enable a check that it is not copyright material
  2. It was written as a vanity page, with a plug for the internet radio show.
  3. It appeared to be an autobiography
