One advice about pages like Languages of India: you might consider to put them on your watchlist, as these pages are regularly subject to unconstructive edits (disproportionally often from people who want to enlighten us about "the oldest languages in the world" LOL). Or alternatively, if you want to edit them, check previous edits first for nonsense. Good thing and many thanks that you spotted the last one after you made your edit about Article 343. –Austronesier (talk) 09:22, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the warm welcome Austronesier! I will be sure to check out the Wikipedia Adventure. I didn't know about the watchlist thing despite it being on the top right of my screen! It seems to be a handy feature. Do you know what standard Wikipedia uses to cite sources? The References section of many pages looks very ununiform. For example, for website sources, I've seen that just the link can be used or the link along with the title, author, date accessed, etc. Thanks. Jismani (talk) 18:40, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Citations often are a hodgepodge here, and there is not uniform house style. At least, pages should be consistent for their citation style, but rarely are, because some editors will just stick to their preferred habits, instead of adapting to the given citation style. You can have a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for the details, and there are several handy WP:citation templates. Bare URLs are dispreferred, but still very often encountered here. Not many editors take up the tedious task of cleaning up pages for citation standards...
Just take it slow and easy, sometimes it is better to observe and make little steps first, before taking up bigger projects. –Austronesier (talk) 19:35, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
