About the Disambiguation page[edit]

The Jihad (disambiguation) page should be no different than any other disambiguation pages. WP has a guideline WP:DISAMBIG that may help you in deciding what should be included on a disambiguation page. The etymology of the word is interesting, but it should be sourced (referenced); like you, I am also a native speaker of a non-English language and have to check myself when I find it obvious that XXX in Spanish means YYY in English -- these things, need referencing. For "Jihad" as a name, there are lots of "Name your baby" books out there - at checkout stands and in libraries - that make good derivational sources for the meanings of names. Hope this helps and boldly add the material to the main "Jihad" article when sourced. Carlossuarez46 17:57, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quick follow-up on a personal note: you don't have an Arabic box on your babel. WP needs more Arabic speaking contributors (e.g., I have heard that there are lots of requests for translation of articles in the Arabic WP to English WP awaiting action) -- I've been (on topics that otherwise interest me) doing Spanish, Catalan, and Italian. Thanks for both notes Carlos. I will take them into consideration (i.e. whenever I edit the aforementioned article, AND I will add the Arabic in my babel). As a matter of fact, I can easily talk with regard to this subject (Jihad) simply because it happens to be my first name and I am not a Muslim :o) You are right however, what may seem as a boringly obvious and trivial truth to me, may not be so for others... you are absolutely right with it comes to that. On the other hand, I am not sure how any references from Baby names books and websites would help in the main Jihad article. I will look into it though. And as for the use of "given name" expression Vs. "proper noun", well, I just put proper noun instead of proper name because I found it more adequate, but if you think "given name" is more adequate, then let it be.
Thanks for your time and for your contribution on this article Carlos. Cheers --Jixavius @ 18:55, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Jihad[edit]

Hi Jixavius,

I truly believe in you that there are people named "Jihad". Cheers, --Aminz 07:00, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support Aminz.. I am sure many others also do--even if they don't want or feel like saying it out right. Thanks anyways and keep the good work dude! --Jixavius @ 16:52, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support[edit]

I think you should complain to an administrator about Lcnj or whatever new username he has. Many people seem to be bothered with his edits. Embargo 12:51, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What did he do Embargo? You can email me (see menu on the right or link on my user page) for private issues you do not prefer to disclose publicly. Thanks.
