Signing as others[edit]

Hi there. Please don't sign statements as other users. Like this, for example. (There is no user Anonymous, the name isn't allowed by the system). Thank you. --Bfigura (talk) 22:07, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then can I just not sign something at all? I wasn't really wanting my user name to appear on there for reasons I won't go into here.

Per talk page guidelines, if you're signed in, you need to sign. (Otherwise a bot will probably do it for you, as one did in this case). If you feel the need for some anonymity, you could log out and post as an IP. However, if you're doing that, make sure you're not doing it in a way that's disruptive (as that would violate our policy on using sockpuppets, which could lead to a block). Best, --Bfigura (talk) 23:02, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well you can see from my comment that I wasn't being disruptive. I just wanted to remain anonymous. I will log out in the future if it is needed.

I know, I wasn't trying to imply that you were (or were intending to be) disruptive. I was just quoting the policy in a nutshell. Cheers, --Bfigura (talk) 20:18, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
