"I was there and I saw it" does not satisfy verification since a claim "I saw it" is not a reliable source. Please re-read the policies I have cited. I do not question your personal observations being accurate, but unless they were published in a reliable source, they are not adequate support for a report of an amazing bit of animal behavior. The next person might say might say "I saw a crow bend a piece of metal and use it to pick a Schlage lock so it could enter my kitchen and get some food. I saw a horse doing arithematic. I saw a dog driving a car. I saw a monkey composing Haikus. I was there and I saw it." Your statement about the mentation of an octopus is an amazing one, and amazing claims about animals require good sources. One way to improve this article would be to cite to your blog, where you recite the incident, and then to say in the article "According to Jonathan, ...." Then the article would accurately report that it is your statement, rather than stating that the incident happened. When I looked at your blog I could not find the incident. Maybe a better link is needed. Regards. Edison (talk) 16:15, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
