Hi Jmajeremy, I'm Nenad.

I was reading the article Vlachs of Serbia, and i saw it is baisicaly not true. I am Vlachian, and as is, most of the Vlachians will consider as an insult to be called Romanians. So i clicked on button of the botom of the page that i didnt find what i was looking for, and tried to leave a comment, but every time a validation error message apears and it wont send. Can you help me? This is what i was trying to post:

Sorry, but: "?????/Vlasi) are an ethnic minority of Serbia,>> culturally and linguistically related to Romanians.[4][5][6]<<" is not true. We, vlachians dont understand Romanian language. Vlachian language dont have wrightings, most of external links and citenotes are in Romanian language. Picture at top is romanian traditional folklore of southeastern Vojvodina, not eastern Serbia where we Vlachians are located. Picture from referances no.15 http://www.politika.rs/rubrike/tema-dana/Dragojevic-Vlasi-nisu-Rumuni.sr.html is our traditional folklore that we are proud of ( http://static.politika.co.rs/uploads/rubrike/210048/i/1/vlasi.jpg ). Most Vlachians will

consder as an crude offense to be called "Romanians" except those who live very close to the Romanian border wich are mainly assimilated to Romanians. Vlachians live in harmony with our physical neihbours Serbs. Physical, not political because we belong to a same nation. I cant post any citenotes or referances in vlachian language,

beacause we dont use wrightings, our language is totally based on werbal comunication. Our enthnonym "Rumani" as metioned above in section "legal status" is misspelled in translation. Our enthonym, as we call ourselves is, " Rom"n " similarily pronounced in english as for ancient Roman. Our enthonym name comes from Roman-Dacian wars in 1st century AD. Roman Legio IV Flavia felix in 86. AD was stationed in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singidunum , and one of its vexillationes in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viminacium (near modern-day Kostolac, Serbia) In preparing for war, notables from vexillation of Viminacium (which today has population of some 2000-2500 Vlachs 7000 Serbs), asked for volonteers for mercenaries among Vlachian tribes, and there vas suprisingly high response, therefore neighbouring tribes called Vlachians Rom'(a)n, or true Roman. Note that this was ancient history for a nation that dont use wrightings, and scarse evidences was found in viminacium archeological excavation, due to lack of funding. Also, there is legend that Vlachians worked as paid workforce on building http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trajan's_Bridge in 103-105. AD which was located in northern borders of our tribes, althouth there is no clear evidence of that. Under section, "subgroups" is mentioned ungureni, from homolje. I'm a Vlachian from Homolje. In Serbia, Hungary is called Madjarska, so we Vlachians call it the same way. I have newer heard for such word or classifications, and Vlachian is my mathernal language. I have visited Transylvania, and Romanian Walachia to study the claims that we Vlachians orginated from there. Diference was obvious, diferrent folclore, different customs, diferent langage, and totaly diferent traditional suits(compare picture from this site, the south Vojvodina Romanian folklore, and picture http://www.glassrbije.org/srbija/sites/default/files/u3/homoljski-motivi.jpg, the traditional folklore outfit from Kucevo, Homolje, eastern serbia. Note that Kucevo has relatively high mountains, so outfit includes short light yelow coat made of same woolen material as pants, which is not shown on this picture because it was pictured in mid-August, on 40C deegrees celsius, and where coat is imposible to wear becouse it is made to keep body warm on coldest winters. As you can see on the picture, the player under the white flag tried to wear it and his shirt is cowered with swet. Next photo represents Vlahian traditional outfit from Zagubica, Homolje, where you can see the thick coat on male players, womans dont wore thick garderobe because they were mainly at home, wile man is supossed to work outside on farming, and with animals. http://www.radio-bingo.com/KUD%20Vlasko%20kolo%20srednja%20folklorna%20grupa%20resized.JPG.

Folowing picture represents traditional Romanian Wallachian costume http://www.romanianmuseum.com/Romania/GorjOverlappingPage.jpg (source http://www.romanianmuseum.com/Romania/RomaniaFolk.html see Wallachia)

Next picture is an example of transylvanian outfit. http://www.muzeul-etnografic.ro/_Images/Content/portul-popular/07port03.jpg The next link is to transylvanian traditional outfit http://www.muzeul-etnografic.ro/en/permanent-exhibition/traditional-folk-costume.php. In the section for "Tarani", the saying "Nu dau un leu pe el" is In romanian language, not Vlachian. There is several dialects of our language, but every Vlachian understand all dialects. Subgroup Ungurjane-muncani, mountjanne translated from Vlachian to English means dense forest. I'm studying Vlachian culture in all municipalities for over a decade, and no Vlachian refers to belong in any of mentioned subgrups, first time heard of such classification about seven years ago. Exception is population of Bufanni who lives within 10km from Romanian border in Serbia, and majority refers to be Vlachian-Romanian but their culture and language is the same as Romanian. Vlachian language is far more similar with Itallian then Romanian. Sinceirly, Nenad

It is long, i suposse but I was trying to point out on some, for Vlachians important facts that in this Article, Vlachs of Serbia, are incorrectly pressented. Is there a way to correct this? If you have any questions, i will be ready to help. pecicvlaski@yahoo.com thanks, mate ;-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.245.1.132 (talk) 21:44, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi, Nenad. I'm not super familiar with the subject area so I wouldn't want to edit it myself. I would invite you to go ahead and make the edits on your own and see how others react, or bring it up for discussions on the article's talk page: Talk:Vlachs of Serbia. —JmaJeremy 20:25, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
