User:Jmmyjam, A very short description, profession, etc. will suffice, there is no need to add overly flowery adjective laden spiels denoting their every accomplishment, position held or award won. Heironymous, stop deleting relevant identifying information about subjects. Further, their "every accomplishment" is not being cited in the short citations I have provided. However, short relevant qualifiers assist readers in distinguishing subjects. No overly flowery adjective laden spiels are being added.

All of the new information you are adding is great, but would you mind citing it to the sources from which you are obtaining it? This article is poorly referenced enough as it is and it would really help it out. If you are unsure how, here is a link Wikipedia:Template messages/Sources of articles/Citation quick reference. I've left posts at the articles talk page, which you should check occasionally as their purpose is to allow editors to collaborate and communicate about the articles. Happy editing. You are still adding unreferenced material and have not yet referenced the other newly added material. Per WP policy, any unreferenced information can be removed. Please go back and cite your additions. Heiro 17:50, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Response to this, left on my talk page. Here is a simple way to do the citations:

• <ref>{{cite book|author=John Doe|title=BIG BOOK OF STUFF|publisher=Publishing House|date=1982|page=123|isbn=123456789}}</ref> ,

you insert this immediately after the sentence of fact that you are citing. And then by placing {{reflist}} under the ==References== header, it will show up as a number in the body of the text, and as a reference under that header. I hope this is clear and clears up this problem. For citing a website, use this

• <ref>{{cite web|url=http://WEBSITE NAME HERE.com/yadayadayada|title=Website of Fun FActs|accessdate=2010-09-05}}</ref>
• If you are using the same source multiple times, insert <ref name=CATCHYNAME> for <ref> at the beginning of the first cite, and then just use plain old <ref name=CATCHYNAME/>(note the addition of the slash at the end, this is important) for all subsequent citations to this source.

As for the fact that others have not done it well on this article, they should have, and its no reason to not start doing it now. The way it stands, per policy, anyone can remove the information now as uncited. I have not done so, I have merely asked you to cite your additions. As for the notable list with overlong descriptions, etc, over the last 2 days two different admins here have either a.)agreed with me [1]) or b.) made the same changes I suggest themselves [2]. Per this on my talk, your welcome. Wikipedia can be a little daunting at first, and sorry if I came across badly, sometimes my bluntness is mistaken for hostility, which I never mean it to be. There are lots of rules, policies, guidelines, etc. and it does take awhile to make it through them and then even longer to collate and assimilate them. Most of the really helpful ones are contained in the welcome template someone left at the top of your page. If you have questions or need occasional advice, you can leave me a note on my talk. Also, Dougweller and Nyttend are both good admins, knowledgable about the ins and outs here and usually willing to lend a hand. Although admins on this site are considered to be ordinary editors like anyone else, albeit with a few "extra" tools. Another useful tip, instead of signing you actual name, sign " ~~~~ ", and the software will automatically sign and date stamp your posts on talkpages. It makes it a lot easier to see who said what and when in the longer conversations. Here is another useful citation, for use with encyclopedias:

There are more useful ones at that first link I left you, Wikipedia:Template messages/Sources of articles/Citation quick reference, which has slightly different versions for articles in larger publications, journals, etc. Once you've used the first few example I've left you a few times, you will probably get the general pattern and be able to figure the others out pretty easily. Some of them have 15 or so fields, dont worry, they still work without them, just make sure the important fields such as title, author, dates, accessdate, etc. are there. All of that extra stuff is there in case you need to include volumes, issues, and all of the other info, but it insnt necessary in every case, such as a book, which has name, author, page, title, and isbn is pretty much all you need. For instance, books dont need the url, but if your using say an online copy at Googlebooks, it might be useful to include it. Anyway, happy editing and looking good. Besides the fact that you deleted with no explanation (and if you don't use edit summaries, anyone may revert your edits simply because you haven't explained them) his advising Osceola, what you added has, according to its proponent Amateur historian JB Bird, no reliable source as it's not accepted by scholars. Thus it doesn't belong in our article. Don't take this personally, new editors aren't expected to understand all our policies and guidelines, but this is part of fundamental policy, you need reliable sources - see WP:RS.
