John Buck was a video editor for 25 years and was writing a book about early non-linear editing systems; his site is www.velocite.net, but there's nothing there at the moment. Here is a link about Lumet doing a first cur of "Power" in two weeks on a Montage at Unitel in NYC: https://books.google.com/books?id=NCQEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PT38&lpg=PT38&dq=book+about+montage+picture+processor&source=bl&ots=0Ai6-BP_CG&sig=8LJADa6RTmrpSXGh1Ci_phhLRFo&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiBhv_Y3ODPAhXohVQKHZVrBWQQ6AEIQjAG#v=snippet&q=lumet&f=false. I'm a noob, so will find out how to add cites and add that one.

I was one the three software guys who worked on the Montage system. I did all of the UI and edit list management, and the film cutting interface. I also worked on EditDroid for a bit before George canned the project.
