A doubt

[edit]

Hi! Are you a Brazilian editor? --Lecen (talk) 17:54, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good to know that. I don't remember having seen you at the Wikiproject Brazil. What is your field of interest here? --Lecen (talk) 23:56, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pedro III of Portugal

[edit]

I was amazed and outraged once I learned that Qwyrxian closed the move request for Pedro III of Portugal claiming lack of consensus.[1] Twelve editors supported the move and only four opposed. I complained to him about how unfair and absurd was his action and that he should accept the will of the vast majority or at least reopen the move request. I'd like to ask you to share your thoughts about it on his talk page. Thank you, --Lecen (talk) 16:50, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi, this is a mass-produced message which means it may duplicate a message already on your Talk:page. As a result of the lack of reference to specific sources or guidelines such as WP:SOVEREIGN, User:Qwyrxian closed the RM at Talk:Peter III of Portugal but said a new RM could be started if new evidence was presented. This I have done after discussion with Qwyrxian and User:Lecen. This means that your previous support or oppose will not be counted, and must be resubmitted. However please note Qwyrxian's request that support/oppose be made with reference to specific arguments guidelines or sources, and (quote) especially recommend that people don't do the "Support per person X and Y", as such comments are close to useless, (unquote). Thanks for your time. Best regards. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:25, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm replying in English because I want prevent the possibility of someone accusing both os us of doing something wrong. You are 100% correct. We lose too much time discussing nothing with no real purpose. Even worse is to see many editors who have no knowledge of what is being discussed to share their thoughts in equal terms with other who do. Instead of a few people who are experts or who enjoy the subject talking about it, we have many who just by chance saw the discussion speaking a bunch of nonsense. But you should look at the brighter picture: Pedro I of Brazil is TFA on the 190th anniversary of Brazil's independence. There will be dozens of thousands of people who will learn a little bit more of the history of our country. We are not wasting time. Cheers, --Lecen (talk) 02:34, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

O falar em Português é um pecado? I wish you both well. But to my way of thinking giving an "English name" to a BLP like Talk:André Miele or indeed the various other "English names" at WP:RM, is considerably more unfortunate than anglicizing a dead king. We do use English exonyms for some monarchs. Just as Portugese does for some English monarchs. :) Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:47, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We have language watchers now? "Speak English, foreigner, or you're out of here!" Instead of being a place for everyone, Wikipedia will become a place for a few. Keep doing a good job, guys! You suuure are heading on the right way! --Lecen (talk) 02:39, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Economy of Togo may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • |occupations = agriculture 65%, industry 5%, services 30% (({{As of|1998|alt=1998}})
  • |imports = $1.492 billion (({{As of|2012|alt=2012}})<ref name=CIAWFTB/>

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Economy of the Republic of the Congo, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cocoa (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:38, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Instituto de Ensino Teológico Bíblico do Brasil

[edit]

Hi Joao. We talked a few months ago on my user talk page about this page and I don't think you ever had the chance to see my replies there. There's a page on the Portuguese Wikiversity about the subject (v:pt:Instituto de Ensino Teológico Bíblico do Brasil) if you'd like to take care of it. Accidental block? on WP-io

[edit]

Hello,

Please unblock me on WP-io. Was the block an error?

You only have an issue with one edit of mine, where I set images to user preference so that they would be more accessible to those with poor vision, or with high-resolution computer monitors. Everything is blocked, so I cannot edit my own talk page or email you from WP-io. There was no explanation and no warning, so I assume you blocked me by mistake.

Thank you! — kwami (talk) 22:56, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Kwamikagami! I've removed the block. Best regards, Joao Xavier (talk) 23:41, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
