Mention NIEM

[edit]

A great idea! If every agency used a central XML language for data publishing the world would be a much more transparent place.

You might also want to mention data.gov and the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM)

Here is another interesting article:

Sunlight Foundation on why XML is better then PDF for data publishing --Dan 15:58, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks much Dan. I've added a reference to NIEM in the XML section. Please add more details. I'm not sure where data.gov fits in the article yet. Ideas? Joe Carmel (talk) 04:52, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Joe-- Thanks much. Few more updates, filled out the HTML, XML and PDF sections with some more ideas and concepts to get people started. Anything else folks would like to see in there? Kevin Lyons (talk) 16:05, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
