House races included in this project[edit]

All races where the winning candidate got 55% or less of the vote are considered competitive and are included in this list. Races where the winner got between more than 55% but less than 60% of the vote were evaluated on a case-by-case basis for inclusion in this list.

These 91 races are for slightly less than 20 percent of the 435 districts in the House.

House races listed at United States House elections, 2006 but not included in this project[edit]

In general, races where the winning candidate got 60% or more of the vote are considered non-competitive and are NOT included in this project. The following 25 races fall into that category.

Note: comments about why these races should NOT be excluded are always welcome; please insert them directly below the race in question, and sign your name. Also, of course, anyone is welcome to create and/or improve these articles even though they are not officially in the project.

Other House races where articles exist but races are NOT included in this project[edit]

The following articles also exist, and are not in either of the two lists above. They are noted here for completeness and to reduce confusion.

Categorization[edit]

The source for the above was all articles in the category "United States House of Representatives elections by state", for the 2006 general election. The articles in that category can be found [here].
