I agree with you on the rating, but there is already an objection on the talk page. Bascisally, it sounds like "because I can't rate it "core" for bio, I want it in "top" for saints." The other rationale is that she is more important than Anthony of Padua or Columba - to which I say Then lets put them in the category that they belong. -- Pastordavid 14:42, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Festivals

[edit]

hey

You gave me a good idea the other day. I would like to ask you how can i go along and merge the Festivals project with the Holidays project?? im really interested in expanding the knowlage of festvials from around the world but its hard doing it alone. any help is much appreciated Maverick423 05:32, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks much for your help and your participation on the project is much appreciated =)Maverick423 02:32, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok i have placed some new task for the project they are basic ones such as making tamplets and such. If you got any suggestions add it to the suggested Task paragraph that im about to make. I hope we can make this project work out. As far as the Holiday project request, they havent replyed at all to it so i take it that they either dont care or that their project is inactive at the moment. well my friend thanks for all your help and all help that will come from you =) Maverick423 16:43, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hope you dont mind me bothering you with this too much but heres another update. Wikiproject Holidays have responded and they have declared that both our project and their project become sister projects since holidays and festivals sometimes do overlap. well my friend now that that is over with im going to update you when we got some festivals that you would seem intrested in. i read what you wrote so when we get stuch on some christian festivals we will know where to look =) take care Maverick423 14:45, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good then. well once i get the project fully working, ill be able to look for festivals to add and such. I understand about the saint projects and by all means you gotta do what you gotta do. and you do such a great job at it too as i see most of the ones you contribute to become featured articles! well like i said when you got some time stop on by =P Maverick423 14:55, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks much for making that new templet it taught me how to make one. however i cannot link the templet to a page like you did with the one you made how do you do this? thanks Maverick423 17:00, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Poll has been placed on the festival project talk page. whenever you have time please vote. thanks Maverick423 13:47, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the templates! Your help is much appreciated! As well as your participation.. Lighthead 01:01, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The next step is creating a wikistub...but I can do that. There's quite alot of Kabbalah articles that are stubs. There's one that has mention of Jewish mysticism but it has a Judaism stub. But that one's as good as ours. There's not much debate. Lighthead 01:12, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did the Kabbalah portal. How do you think the Header's can be reworked so that they're not italicized? Let me know. Lighthead 21:00, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You think so? I'm not quite sure, just b/c I seem to be the only one doing anything with it. But, if you think it'll get more involvement if I let it loose, might as well give it the ol' college try! EaglesFanInTampa (formerly Jimbo) 17:40, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe I should read before I talk. Never mind; I see exactly what you mean, and yes, I'll get it moved to its own page. I've just been so swamped that I (shamefully) admit I haven't given this project as much TLC as it needs these past couple weeks. Thanks for the heads-up and good looking out...moving now! EaglesFanInTampa (formerly Jimbo) 17:45, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, thank you! I can always use the help. Gimme a day or so to get a free moment and I'll figure out where we all can focus our energy. EaglesFanInTampa (formerly Jimbo) 18:01, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I guess

[edit]

I have a stupid question (as I'm sort of out of the loop); what is a banner is it the template that designates the project; the one we have that's red and white? I know it's a stupid question, face it I'll look it up, but let me know just in case I haven't found the answer. Thanks. Lighthead 21:49, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That seems unprofessional or no?

[edit]

If you can make it look right do it; but have you already put up banners on the article talk pages cause I haven't. I'll check right now just in case you don't answer soon. Lighthead 21:54, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm putting up...

[edit]

I'm putting up more of those banners as we speak... Lighthead 21:57, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You should

[edit]

You should archive your messages.. Lighthead 21:58, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I took a look at that template

[edit]

I took a look, yeah that seems right go ahead and do that; I'll just place those banners in as many articles as possible right now; the main one's just in case I don't finish are the ones from the "infobox" (is that right?). So go ahead. Lighthead 22:04, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So in other words

[edit]

So we have to create 30 different versions of the stubs? Ay yay yay... To be perfectly honest there's not even that many kabbalah related pictures in Wikimedia Commons. So. I guess. Lighthead 22:23, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I understand now there have to be 30 said stubs. I'll make the list right now. Lighthead 22:30, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

50

[edit]

There are exactly 50 Kabbalic articles in all categories dealing with Kabbalah that are stubs. So. Lighthead 23:18, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Input

[edit]

John, I am having a discussion with another editor about categorization; in particular, whether it is appropriate to remove articles from the Category:Lutheran denominations, and organize them into the more specific sub-cats Category:Lutheran World Federation members and Category:International Lutheran Council members. I will probably post something to the WP:Lutheranism talk page, but I wanted to get some input from you whether I am following the right reasoning on this. Thanks in advance. -- Pastordavid 23:28, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could you tell me what I asked you a little while ago; about how to remove the italics on the Kabbalah portal. Lighthead 06:08, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

No I'm talking about in the portal itself, you know how it says Selected Article, or Selected Biography; it's italicized. I was wondering how to undo it, because I don't see anything like that in the template. I'll double check just to make sure. Lighthead 21:39, 10 April 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Latvia template

[edit]

In the template you created and have been adding to Latvian-related articles, Latvia was described as a U S State. While it is impossible to take anything at all for granted about US foreign policy this is certainly not accurate, and I have amended it accordingly. Enthusiasm is of course in many ways a good thing, but perhaps you might consider being more careful when working in areas with which you are not familiar. Hey there, I just started the WikiProject for James Bond. You were concerned on the proposal page that we only have enough members for a task force. The reason I went ahead and started the project was because I can tell you we will gather more members quite quickly. Once the project starts heating up, they will come. WP1

[edit]

Hi John, When affixing the WP1 banners please take care to put them below any {{talkheader}} and {{skiptotoctalk}} templates. By definition these should be at the top of the page. Any WPBiography|living=yes or {{blp}} templates should also be as close to the top as possible. Personally I would be putting the WP1 banner below {{ArticleHistory}} and WikiProject banners too, but that's your call. No reply needed. Cheers. --kingboyk 17:12, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you follow the link from the template, you can find the CFD discussion about this category and similar ones. The proper way to handle this information is with a list. If every film enthusiast were to categorize actors by their performance, all the articles about actors would suffer. Categorizing actors by performance is contrary to categorization guidelines. A list can add more information and organize the information. Rather than adding to the category, I hope you and the project will make a replacement list so that the category can be deleted. Please do not remove the template. -- Samuel Wantman 22:34, 18 April 2007 (UTC) [reply]

License tagging for Image:Iglesia ni Cristo flag.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Iglesia ni Cristo flag.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Nononono. Not a good idea. Why do we need a page for list of actors who portrayed James Bond the other pages do this more than adequately. Its not as if there have been hundred different actors. Very bad layout and Serious Serious!! copywright that cannot possibly qualify for an article. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 20:06, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I respect you a great deal but I'm sorry I have to admit it is a very serious copywright (and I am always keen for adding images to articles) - it is an encyclopedia to provide information and if I don't delete it someone else will. It doesn't even mention the years e.g that Sean Connery played the actor. I very strongly suggest redirecting to the main James Bond page which already describes it in more than enough details -this will rid of the red link. The page consists of just the entire banks of images!!!! I wouldn't normally intrude or step in but it has to be redirected. If you remove all the copywrighted images your left with an extremely basic bit of info which is already covered in the other articles and even the categories. If it was a List of actors who have appeared in the James Bond series then we might have something there. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 20:19, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you are OK with the redirect to the section of the James Bond article which covers what about List of actors who have appeared in the James Bond series???? Now this would have potential. An A-Z list and details on the year and film and character. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 20:22, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another useful article which would have more merit would be one which focuses on the casting of all the James Bonds throughout the whole series -you know the information that regularly appears in the beginning of many of the film articles. A useful article would be Casting of James Bond summarizing all of this information on not only all the actors but the casting of the character from Flemings desire to cast David Niven to the 200 or so names for Casino Royale 2006. This would be an article dedicated to the casting of the character through the entire series which has more encyclopedic potential. What do you think? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 20:35, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What I mean is an A-Z list of actors rather than characters -covering the cast of all the films. It could be listed in a table with columns for Character Film and Year and Notes. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 20:41, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

THe A-Z is in Category:James Bond cast members anyway but what do you think about the article idea Casting of James Bond? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 20:44, 21 April 2007 (UTC) [reply]

WikiProject page

[edit]

Hi, you recently created a page titled User:/WikiProject District of Columbia, which appears to be a WikiProject page. It has been moved to Wikipedia:WikiProject District of Columbia, as the original title appeared erroneous; if you intended to create a user subpage, please use something like User:Warlordjohncarter/WikiProject District of Columbia. Thanks – Gurch 22:49, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't put a name in after "User:" because I wasn't sure whose name to use; someone else had first proposed the project, and I created a proposed project page for their proposal. However, seeing that the page has now been kind of officially started by being moved into regular space, I'll try to place the banner on the various appropriate pages and hope to get some more members. Thanks for helping light a fire under me to get the project rolling. John Carter 22:53, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry – pages don't have to have any kind of "officialness" to exist in project space. While articles need to meet certain standards, you can put more or less anything into a page beginning with Wikipedia:, provided it complies with policy (no copyright infringements or the like), though of course such pages may be deleted through Wikipedia:Miscellany for discussion. If you're proposing a new sub-project or anything else that isn't tied to a particular user, feel free to use it. Thanks – Gurch 22:57, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article WikiProject King Arthur, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk 22:30, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

^_^;; Well, such things do happen... I probably should have just moved it instead of using a deletion tag, but today I've already found several pages completely out of place (i.e. user pages/userboxes in the Main namespase), so I just automatically listed this one for deletion, too... 夢の騎士Yume no Kishi - Talk

John, thanks for your help with this. Nswinton 21:09, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi John, I just wanted to say thank you for the work on tagging the VAs! That's a great help. Sorry I've been quiet lately, but I've been pretty busy offline, but I hope to be able to get active again in May. Thanks for keeping the momentum going. Walkerma 22:15, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated List of actresses who portrayed Bond girls, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of actresses who portrayed Bond girls and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it.
