Welcome!

Hello, John Steven Gurney, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Your username is that of a person you are writing about[edit]

Your sole edit inserted the name of children's-book illustrator John Steven Gurney into Bailey School Kids.

If you ARE NOT this person, then your username violates Wikipedia:Username policy because it is confusingly similar to a real person and you edit in a way that suggests that you are this person.

If this is the case, either put a note on User:John Steven Gurney clearly stating that you are NOT this person, or request a username change at Wikipedia:Changing username.

If you ARE this person, WP:REALNAME offers several options.

If you ARE this person, you need to read and follow the instructions in Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure before editing any topic related to your profession. This applies whether you are using this account, another account, or if you are not logged in at all and editing under your "IP address."

As you have not edited in years, it is unlikely that this account will be blocked until or unless you do. I am putting this note here to inform other readers that either a children's author has updated a page about a book he illustrated, or that a children's author is being impersonated.

Note: As of 1 January 2021, there is no article in Wikipedia about John Steven Gurney, John S. Gurney or any listing of a 21st-century children's-book illustrator on John Gurney, but there is a draft at Draft:John Steven Gurney. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 21:10, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
