Speedy Deletion[edit]
My appologies, which article was the one in question? I have been patrolling newpages for a while, and I have read the spedy deletion categories alot, but I may have made a mistake. - The specific article I am talking about is one I wrote about thirty seconds before you speedy-deleted it - Nina Clifford. I added this article after seeing an entire program on television devoted to the woman, and after doing some research about her online after Wikipedia didn't have the information I needed. She is quite notable, and a cursory google search would have turned that out. Even if it were debateable that the article should exist is irrelevant, because anything with any chance of validity should not be speedy-deleted. While speedy-deletions are seen by many as an easy way to get your edit count up without a lot or work, it is detrimental to the project to simply mark a slew of new articles as 'speedy deletions,' because it's akin to biting newbies, and it forces other people to make sure nobody is incorrectly tampering with new content.
