Clean start[edit]

Hi John, I'm writing here because of Buidhe's comment that this account of yours is a clean start (and it would not really be appropriate this to discuss this on an article talk page). I share some of Santasa99's concerns and I don't think your editing of clearly contentious articles such as Kemalist historiography and your engagement in such discussions is compatible with having a clean start. The policy clearly states that "Certain articles and topics are particularly contentious, and have attracted additional community scrutiny in the form of requests for comment, community sanctions, or arbitration cases. These areas should be completely avoided by the editor attempting a clean start. Even if the original account is not under a formal editing restriction, changing accounts hides the editor's past relationship to the disputing parties, and interferes with the community's ability to monitor the dispute. It is not an appropriate use of clean start to resume editing contentious or scrutinized topics with a new account." I do think that your editing history under this account violates this principle, you cannot expect to dive headfirst into a very contentious topic with a new account and expect people to ask no questions because it's a "clean start". Please don't take this personally, all of us working on such topics have seen our fair share of disruptive editing, we need to be vigilant and we need all editors to be transparent. I would kindly ask that you avoid editing such articles in the future if you truly are using this account as a clean start. Pinging John the Janitor (public) as well. --GGT (talk) 09:55, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:51, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
