How you informed about assasination of Dr. Mohsen fakhrizade? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.177.144.216 (talk) 15:24, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi there, I did not change any content pertaining to the assassination of Dr Fakhrizadeh, I simply changed the caption on an image of him that was recently added to the article. The caption stated only 'in january 2019' so I changed it to say 'Fakhrizadeh in January 2019'. JohnmgKing (talk) 16:07, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Message regarding Gaetano Mansi

Hi, I write within the Italian Wikipedia group photography, I have added the voice Gaetano Mansi, an Italian fashion photographer, this has been my first page in English. Some weeks ago I have found on the page the fansite template and I would like to know what is wrong, this page is the translation of the Italian one and is made and formatted it the same way of dozens of other pages I have written for the Italian Wiki. I know that the way of composing may be different from Italian to English but from this to declare that is written by a fan is for me a long shot. Can you help me to understand by your point of view what is wrong? I would like to add more pages but right now I do not feel like to keep on working! thanks a lot --Luca Capuozzo (talk) 16:33, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the message @Luca Capuozzo: . I added sections to the article, but I did not add the fan pov tag. You can see this if you check the page history carefully. The user who added the fan pov tag is Mccapra, so you may want to contact them so they can explain their reasoning. I hope you will keep contributing to Wikipedia, there is always more to learn and hopefully enjoy. JohnmgKing (talk) 17:55, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

operas and singers

Thank you for quality articles about operas and their singers such as Fire Shut Up in My Bones, PUSH (opera), Petrissa Solja and Elizabeth Bishop (mezzo-soprano), for gnomish edits such as short descriptions, for "there is always more to learn and hopefully enjoy", - John, you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Copy within

Thanks for identifying the source of the material in your edit.

This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.

I've noticed that this guideline is not very well known, even among editors with tens of thousands of edits, so it isn't surprising that I point this out to some veteran editors, but there are some t's that you need to be crossed.S Philbrick(Talk) 12:38, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for making me aware of the guideline. I really appreciate it, and will adhere to that wording in future. JohnmgKing (talk) 14:26, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

Daniel Pruce

The answer to the question you were trying to ask about Daniel Pruce is that User:LordVoldemort728 saw you nominated your own article for deletion, and tagged it with a WP:CSD#G7 speedy deletion tag ("author requests deletion"), and User:Deb followed through with the deletion. That is only supposed to be used in cases where only one editor has made any substantive contributions to the page, which I don't believe was the case here based on a couple of the edits by others, but opinions could vary on that. RL0919 (talk) 17:02, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

In view of that, I've restored it. Deb (talk) 17:19, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
@RL0919 thank you for that education and helpful explanation, very kind of you to take the time. JohnmgKing (talk) 19:53, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Anne Therese Gennari i requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
