Sorry if I was wrong, but I'm not sure of this. Lugard is attested as high comissiones of Northern Nigeria (i.e. Worldstatesmen) and I never heard about a british protectorate called Dutch Geria, that is always quoted in Google following a single source: a transcription of a book; this amataeus transcriptions have many mistakes of translation specially when this is from scaned text. The first mistake on a scaned translation seems to be the source of all the further mistakes. Lugard served 1900-1906 as high comissioner of the protectorate of Nothern Nigèria and is really strange that at same time and in same dates was also "high comissiones" (a british title) of a Dutch colony that anyone know. Furthermore Netherlands never has possessions in Nigeria inland, neither in Africa inland, and even the name "Geria" instead Nigeria, suggest a mistake. I believe that is better as I wrote, because is sure and attested, while the unknow dutch protectorate is really very doubtous. Best regards Jolle (talk) 17:08, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
