April 2023[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. MOS:FILMAUDIENCE might help you understand why audience ratings are not included. The guideline says Do not include user ratings submitted to websites such as the Internet Movie Database, Metacritic, or Rotten Tomatoes, as they are vulnerable to vote stacking and demographic skew. No. Relevant in the sense that the text pertaining to the sources has been removed. Stop edit warring or you risk being blocked. Throast {{ping}} me! (talk | contribs) 19:35, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What's so unconstructive and disruptive in highlighting that a film received acclaim from audiences compared to critics and using even reliable sources? I'm not doing anything wrong. Jonathan Kent Is Still Alive (talk) 19:36, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Polls of the public carried out by a reliable source in an accredited manner, such as CinemaScore and PostTrak (include both if available), may be used and placed in the appropriate release or reception-based section, depending on the available context, but the content is not required to be in a "Critical reception" section." So, I'm not putting the content in the Critical reception section, just at the beginning from a general perspective. As I said, not doing anything wrong. Actually, you are. You keep restoring disputed content without taking any dispute resolution measures, which makes you an edit warrior. The lead section of any given Wikipedia article is a summary of the article body, i.e. the info you put into the lead must be verified in the body. That said, adding audience ratings to the body is no solution to the problem because MOS:FILMAUDIENCE applies. Throast {{ping}} me! (talk | contribs) 19:44, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I received this response before restoring the content, but the edit war should be considered as such if a part is giving at least one understandable and valid reason to use or not use that content, you are the only one I'm really disputing with, I had/have also supporters if you noticed, and the page about the audience reaction you showed me is clear about it.
