NOTE[edit]

For the sake of my conscience, I would like you to note that the article does not say (as far as I know) that the company is the only provider of walk-out-videos in Louisville. The article ONLY establishes the notability of the company - it does not say it is the only provider of Walk-Out Videos.

To spam, or not to spam?[edit]

Hi, Jonathon. The biggest problem with the article is that it falls afoul of our rules on conflict of interest and advertisement. Wikipedia is not an advertisement agency: if you want to promote your company, the proper way is to purchase advertising space within your own market, rather than try to have Wikipedia do your advertising for free. Justin Eiler (talk) 22:52, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, Jonathon. It is true that many companies do have an article about them on Wikipedia--but those articles are written by people outside of the affected company, written from a neutral point of view, and are not necessarily complementary (or necessarily derogatory) to those companies. The policy regarding conflicts of interest strongly discourage a representative of a company writing articles about that company. If the company falls under the notability guidelines, it will be noticed and written about.
I realize that's probably not a very satisfactory answer--unfortunately, in the face of multiple thousands of companies and organizations who have historically tried to get free advertizing on Wikipedia, it's the only viable answer that the Wikipedia community has available. Justin Eiler (talk) 23:02, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Third-party verification is great--that establishes notability. But there are still severe obstacles as far as conflict of interest and advertizing. Jonathon, this article, as written by you or by anyone associated with your company, is not suitable for Wikipedia. Justin Eiler (talk) 23:35, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
