Regarding your edits to Harton Academy, please see the manual of style, which covers capitalisation, use of italics and bold, and people's titles. Tacyarg (talk) 17:35, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Jonmckenziex! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Harton Academy several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Harton Academy, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 20:37, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Jonmckenziex. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Harton Academy, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 19:44, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you have continued to edit this article. Can you confirm whether you have a conflict of interest as defined above? Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 15:41, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for your message on my Talk page. My primary question is the one above - do you work for or represent the Harton Academy (or its multi-agency trust)? I would also recommend that you read the manual of style, specifically the parts about people's titles and use of bold. Your edits have not been compliant with this. Thanks. Tacyarg (talk) 20:19, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for your response. I am having difficulty reconciling your statement that you have no conflict of interest with your addition to the article's Talk page about the importance of the school's Wikipedia article to the community. Can you confirm - you do not work at or for the school, or for the MAT, and you do not have a volunteer role in either of these, such as being on the governing body? In that case, is there a particular reason you are concerned about the article's importance to the community? Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 12:45, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can again confirm that I have absolutely no conflict of interest. I do not work for the academy nor do I work for the Multi Academy Trust. I am have no place on the Local Governing Board and I do not volunteer at the organisation. I am not ‘concerned’ about anything.
I was simply editing the page to provide clearer information. Sure the purpose of a wikipedia article is to provide accurate, recent and relevant information?
Thank you again Tacy. Jonmckenziex (talk) 14:15, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your very full reply, and I'm glad to hear that you have no CoI. Tacyarg (talk) 07:20, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Tacy
Now that this has been cleared up, I’ve restored some of the information on the article. If you feel any changes need to be made, please let me know. We can always talk about it here too. Thank you for your time, consideration and through checks. Jonmckenziex (talk) 20:23, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
