Welcome[edit]

Hello, Jordanm12 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:56, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have an overdue training assignment.[edit]

Please complete the assigned training modules. --UncommonLeaders (talk) 04:46, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Concerns about Pascale Guiton article[edit]

Hello Jordanm12, welcome to wikipedia. I happened to see the article on Pascale Guiton that you created for your class, and although it looks like well-written and well-researched biography, I am concerned that it is likely to be nominated for deletion. It looks like a lovely biography of someone for whom it is probably WP:TOOSOON for her to have an article. Per WP:NPROF just being a professor isn't enough to make someone "notable" for wikipedia. It's possible that her advocacy work has helped her meet the WP:GNG instead but this article does not currently make that clear. I don't intend to nominate the article for deletion myself at this time since I haven't taken the time to verify her notability, but I strongly encourage you to identify at least two independent sources of coverage about Guiton which show she has been more notable than the average professor, from the point of view of people outside her own university. Zero of the current sources serve this function. Or, the article should state how she satisfies one of the WP:NPROF criteria. It would be wise to move the article back to your sandbox while you do this research so it does not get deleted and your work does not go to waste.

If you want keep the article in mainspace, please clean up the major style problems: remove the false & misleading sandbox header; remove all external links from the body of the article; and add links from elsewhere in wikipedia so it is no longer an orphan. In future, you may also want to focus on improving existing articles before you make new ones: for example, could Guiton's work be relevant for improvements to the Toxoplasma gondii article? Good luck with your edits. ~ oulfis 🌸(talk) 09:11, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Red link categories[edit]

Hello, Jordanm12,

Please do not add nonexistent, red link categories to any page on Wikipedia. See WP:REDNO for policy guidance. Doing so means that you are creating work for other editors who must come and remove them. Please visit the Teahouse if you have questions about editing on Wikipedia. Liz Read!
