Adoption Request[edit]

Hi, I noticed you were seeking adoption from an experienced user, I'd happily take up the request. Browse through my userpage and everything and decide whether you'd like me to adopt you. Regards, ——Ryan | tc 11:17, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, you can put {{adoptee|RyanLupin}} if you like. I will help you out with setting up your userpage as soon as I get home (on my mobile at the moment) :) ——Ryan | tc 07:32, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How would you like your userpage? There are many ways of displaying your userboxes. They could be aligned in straight lines, they can be hidden behind a bar so that when you click 'show userboxes' they appear. There are so many things you can do ——Ryan | tc 16:17, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Which code do you want, one that aligns them straight so they're not messy, of the code that hides them? ——Ryan | tc 14:57, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've created an adoption subpage which can be found here. You can find 3 different userbox designs which you can use. The design that 'hides' the userboxes can be split into different categories and have more than one bar with a 'show' option. Also, if you put any of these designs on your userpage, all text you then add will wrap around the box making the design look neat ——Ryan | tc 10:24, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, if you need anything, just ask! :) ——Ryan | tc 09:51, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much for the barnstar, much appreciated! ——Ryan | tc 10:01, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I fixed the template, you can find it on your sandbox page. You'd left a wikitag left open:
| city = [[Miami%2C_Queensland|Miami]<--------- :)

July 2008[edit]

When adding links to material on an external site, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

As you are probably aware, You Tube has recently come under fire in respect of its use of copyrighted works, because of this a review of You Tube linking from English Wikipedia is under way.

It is noted that you linked to a number of You Tube videos from your user page. Sadly the (C) status for some of those video is doubtful or unclear. In general linking to material whose (C) Status is ambiguous, unclear or unconfirmed is highly discouraged on Wikipedia as reflects badly on both the project and the contributor.

If you are not the copyright owner in respect of the videos linked (including any music, screen-shots or computer generated content), please consider reading both (WP:EL) as well as You Tube's Terms and conditions.

If you don't own the copyright to the footage in entirety you should NOT upload it on You Tube either.

If you are indeed the copyright owner in entirety for the linked videos, please confirm this (via OTRS or appropriate means) for each and every video linked, and mention this in respect of the link(s) concerned.

Okay, I won't try to link to my YouTube account again, thanks for pointing it out. I wish you did actually visit the link before writing this though, as I do not have any videos currently uploaded to the site and it's only used for commenting/messaging purposes only as of now. Jordsta (talk) 10:34, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
After some belated feedback from another user , who kindly reviewed the link concerned, the above notification is withdrawn,

and provided the material you link to on You Tube is what would be considered acceptable , you are free to reinstate the link to You Tube which has rashly removed from your user page ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 22:44, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why thank you, ShakespeareFan00! I'm not too sure if I want to reinstate the YouTube link however... jordsta (talk) 08:07, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
