Why can't you make a page about yourself?[edit]
Because Wikipedia only has articles about people who are notable, that is, of enough general interest to be in an encyclopedia. There are plenty of social-networking sites like Myspace and Facebook which will be happy for you to make a page about yourself, but that's not what Wikipedia is for. Follow the links in the Welcome paragraph at the top of the page, and in particular read Wikipedia's guidelines on Notability (people) and autobiography. JohnCD (talk) 21:02, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
