Page creation of Aneesh Upasana[edit]

Invite to Favonian, Tokyogirl79... Can I create this page? Josephjames.me (talk) 06:31, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've moved this to here since there is no page at that location right now. For the future, if you want to recreate the page you should go to the deleting admin's talk page. That said, I have no problem with you wanting to create this page. If it's OK with NeilN (who protected the page) or Favonian, I'll e-mail you a copy of the article's contents. I'd recommend re-writing it entirely since the prior version is strongly associated with sockpuppetry and might raise some eyebrows. (I don't think that you are, but I've found that it's easier to re-write than to try to keep sock-written article prose.) Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:41, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Invite to NeilN... Josephjames.me (talk) 06:49, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Tokyogirl79! Thanks for the reply! Hope you know my e-mail address :p... However, I can't seem to able to create this page as "only administrators can create it." Can you do something about it? Thanks again :) Josephjames.me (talk) 06:48, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved this to your talk page. It's easier to keep up with if we do this all on your talk page. Anywho, your e-mail address is linked to your account and will show up on the sidebar (left) under tools. It's enabled. To be honest, I don't think that the others will have a huge problem so I'll go ahead and just e-mail you a copy of the page. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:51, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@ Tokyogirl79, I have made an edit to the previous version and sent it to your e-mail. Please check! Josephjames.me (talk) 07:23, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done! Josephjames.me (talk) 07:48, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@ Tokyogirl79, should I submit it for review? Josephjames.me (talk) 08:04, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You're just so good! Thank you so much :D Josephjames.me (talk) 08:14, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Tokyogirl79. --NeilN talk to me 15:45, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:27tvm shotcuts GNT 1219827e.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:27tvm shotcuts GNT 1219827e.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:06, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:27tvm shotcuts GNT 1219827e.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:27tvm shotcuts GNT 1219827e.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nick—Contact/Contribs 15:43, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page blanking[edit]

Hi Joseph, regarding this edit while it is typically okay to withdraw a comment from a talk page if nobody has responded, once somebody responds, that discussion should be preserved. The only real exceptions are to remove vandalism or general chatter that doesn't discuss the article. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:26, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removing references[edit]

Hi, please don't remove references as you did here. Having a reference in the infobox helps users better spot vandalism. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:45, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Cyphoidbomb: I did that because the ref. was given down. Anyway, thanks! JosephJames 11:19, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for January 3[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Malayalam films of 2016, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Huma Qureshi. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Drishyam become a GA[edit]

Hallo i am JO Bieson. I am happy to say that Drishyam that you developed become a Good Article. Thanks to Jaguar for reviewing the article. +TALK 05:21, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Drishyam has been nominated for Did You Know[edit]

Did you review the article and is it how you want it to be? If not, you can do a GA-reassessment. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:02, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kailash29792: Doesn't seem to have much difference from my version. What's your opinion? Fit to be a good article? JosephJames 12:39, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Because JO Bieson (who is now blocked) nominated the article at a supposedly premature state. I think the refs need cleanup, such as the authors being listed in "Last name, first name" order and some refs needing archiving. But is the article worth expanding further? Kailash29792 (talk) 13:38, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there is further scope to expand the article. I do think production section needs more content, but I couldn't find any more info. I'll try to archive the refs. Thanks! JosephJames 15:41, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How to combat contradictions[edit]

I think you know that in India, there is rarely definitive information available on a film's budget and box office earnings. Each source providing their version of events that contradicts that of others is so similar to the story of the blind men and an elephant (which we even have a policy on). So I think you know how to handle such situations; by adding each source's statement and explaining in text how they contradict each other. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:52, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kailash29792: Yes, I am aware that definitive information on budgets and box office earnings are usually not available for Indian films. I just added the source which I got first in the article. Which film do you think needs a better explanation on it's budget? JosephJames 12:00, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I honestly don't know. If each source (given they all are reliable) provides a different budget of the same film, we can only include them all and explain the contradictions, either in footnotes or in the main text. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:06, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Baby Meenakshi[edit]

Hello Josephjames.me,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Baby Meenakshi for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Okamialvis (talk) 08:30, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you![edit]

Hi Josphjames.me, just to let you know that i have added some projects to the talkpage of Baby Meenakshi, and as i am quite conservative, assessed it as a start (i don't think increasing it to a c or even b would be very difficult with some additional edits ). thanks

DYK for Drishyam[edit]

On 15 April 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Drishyam, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Drishyam became the second film to show for 100 days in the UAE, after Titanic (1997)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Drishyam. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Drishyam), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
