Some cookies to welcome you! :D
Welcome to Wikipedia, Joshuapeterson! I am Omtay38 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel bad to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message!

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should <script type="text/javascript" src="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Omegatron/monobook.js/addlink.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Hi there! I've been following your problem over at the help desk and think I can help you. I just need a little more information. Namely, what exacatlly were you trying to edit about the article? Then I'll have a look from where I am and see if the changes have shown up. Feel free to post here (on your talk page) or over at my talk page. Hope I can help! --omtay38 05:40, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm trying to edit a bunch of things on the page actually. The biggest edit I've made is I've added a table with all the years this group has been around. It's called "Shows by year (DCI era)" Are you seeing that?Joshuapeterson (talk) 06:05, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, I am seeing that table. Are you? From what I can see, you've made at least 11 different edits under your username and several more under (what I assume) is your IP address (always remember to Login when editing) this link should show you all the changes made to the article since you started editing it at 09:08, January 16, 2008 (UTC).
So, in short:
--omtay38 06:11, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm seeing the table too. I'm glad that you are as well. Everything actually looks fine now, at least I think so. Thanks for your help.Joshuapeterson (talk) 06:19, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I think the problem is sill there. I just went to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Clara_Vanguard on a different computer, and my edits are not showing up. But they show up when I click on the "article" tab. Why is this happening? Why don't my edits show up right on that first page? I notice that the two pages have different URLs. The page without edits is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Clara_Vanguard and when you click on the article tab, the URL is changed to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_clara_vanguard_drum_and_bugle_corps. Does that have something to do with why my edits are not showing up on the original page??Joshuapeterson (talk) 06:30, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The difference between the two pages is that [1] is a Redirect and [2] is the actual article. A redirect is sort of a "pointer" to the actual article (so mistyped searches lead to the correct article).
Although I'm not entirely sure about it, but I can take a guess to your other problem. Most likely, it is still your browser's cache of the page. Emptying the cache, or reloading the page (which is what happens when you click on the article tab) fixes this. As long as your changes are showing up somewhere, that means they have been saved. If you check back in a little while (between a few hours and a few days) it all should be okay. Hope this helped! If you need anything else, let me know! --omtay38 06:40, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Thanks for you help.Joshuapeterson (talk) 06:47, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the content you added to Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps duplicated one or more previously published sources.
