Spotify In Nigeria

Spotify, one of the world's largest music streaming platform announced its expansion to Nigeria and 79 other countries, including Ghana, Kenya and Cote d’Ivoire. Now, previously excluded music creators from Nigeria will be able to reach a wider audience on Spotify. Nigerian music fans no longer need to seek a workaround to use Spotify.

Joseph Kafanchan Lewa (born 1942) is a former Permanent Secretary, Commissioner, General Manager in Nigeria. He is Eggon from Nassarawa State.[1]

Sir (Dr.) J. K Lewa was born on January 15, 1942 at Kagbu-Wana District in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and is married with children and grand children. He started his primary education at St. Patrick’s Catholic School Barkin Abdullahi (BAD) Lafia LGA and completed it at St Michael’s Primary School, Aloce between 1950–1955. He attended the famous and renowned Teachers College Of Mary Immaculate (CMI) Kafanchan, Kaduna Nigeria 1950–1955 and obtained Grades II and lll certificates. He attended various Institutions for his tertiary education namely, University Of Ibadan, Nigeria; University Of Lagos, Nigeria; University Of Connecticut, Hardford, USA; Ashridge Strategic Management Centre, UK; University Of Manchester, UK; Pilgrims University, Burlington, North Carolina, USA. Dr. J. K Lewa started his work career as a primary school teacher and rose to the rank of Headmaster in the former Akwanga Division of Benue-Plateau State before he joined the Benue-Plateau Civil Service in June 1970. He served and was promoted to various capacities, namely, Inspector of Com. Devt. Projects, Sole Administrator, Director, Member NYSC/Man’O’War Committees, Chairman of Panels and Committees, Permanent Secretary, Director General, Commissioner, General Manager and retired as Permanent Secretary from the Civil Service of Plateau State, Nigeria After retirement, Dr. J. K Lewa secured employed as Assistant Sales Manager of the Grand Cereals and Oil Mills (UAC) Bukuru, Plateau State. Due to his immense contributions as an astute administrator and manager in the civil service and private sector, he was called upon by the Federal Government of Nigeria and Nasarawa State Government to contribute his wealth of experience and knowledge to nation building and was appointed as Member and Chairman in several Federal and State Government Boards and Parastatals. These included, NAL Merchant Bank, Nigerian Television Authority NTA, Presidential Visitation Committee to the Federal College of Education Kano, Nasarawa State Public Service Administrative Audit Panel, Nasarawa State Panel on new Chiefdom Creation and Review and Chairman Nasarawa State Library Board.

Dr. J. K Lewa as an academician and Educationist has attended numerous training programmes, national conferences, retreats and seminars. He has presented papers at state and national levels and has conducted several workshops for state and local government staff, notably inclusive, is as resource person for Administrative Staff College Of Nigeria (ASCON) Lagos, Nigeria. He is an Author with three notable publications to his credit and also an associate member of the Chattered National Institute Of Management (MNIM).

Dr. J. K Lewa is a member of the Catholic order of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria (4th degree KSM), Chairman/Member Manchester Uni. and Ibadan Uni. Alumni Plateau/Nasarawa States Chapter, Member KAFOSA. With major landmark contributions to the Eggon people of Nasarawa State, he was called upon unto the Council Of Elders and Chiefs and awarded several Chieftaincy titles, as Ahwye Ayiokpo (Dan Iya Eggon), Ayieshyen Engla (Gardi Kuje), Andaokopo Ohweiko (Barade Angbashura, Mada Station) to mention a few. Sir (Dr.) Joseph Kafachan Lewa spends his leisure time around his children and grandchildren, loves football, plays golf, engages in research and writing and enjoys gospel/traditional Eggon music, dance and literature.
