Croation Settlements

Please check the discussion on Category:Cities, towns and villages in Croatia, and the other categories of Croatian cities/towns, because I think we only need three official categories. --Criticalthinker 03:29, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

He, well that's still some nobility. :) Yes, I believe I've read it somewhere on a talk page over which you two fought. Oh and if you didn't hear the (good for many) news, Igor retired. At least there's more peace without him. --PaxEquilibrium 22:22, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Your edit to Wang Laboratories

It is really unfinished. Putting ==Post bankruptcy== where you have has made the Unix subsection an orphan. Please go back and finish the job. Fiddle Faddle 22:18, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Yugo Films

Hello! I would like to let you know about this article: List of Yugoslavian films and invite you to contribute to it! It is an attempt to gather the finest works of Yugo cinema, including works that have been critically acclaimed, won awards, and are extremely popular among Yugo crowds (minus nationalistic propaganda crap, only nationalism allowed is Yugo nationalism, such as in The Battle of Neretva). Anyway, if you can think of any movies to add, or to simply expand the articles there (including articles on movies, directors, and actors), that would be awesome. Thanks a lot! :) Maîtresse 05:53, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Any?

Any historical request? :)

Hello, I have a question

Hey. Do you know of any good administrator which can look into few things? A certain user which goes by the name of Nikola Smolenski along with the user Paulcicero, have recently started several revert-wars on various articles and I am wondering if there is anyone who can look into this and warn them to stop. Thank you. Tar-Elenion 14:42, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Brioni meeting

Did you see it...? --PaxEquilibrium 12:21, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

An open meeting in which Franjo Tudjman and his closest associates and generals talk how they plan to expel the Serbian population, how to evade international reaction and how to deceive the public and hide the truth (openly, exactly and precisely that [a njima cemo govoriti kako cemo im toboze jamciti ljudska prava and a huge laugh from him, Gotovina and several others]).
Some (ICTY) have been discussing that accusation for Genocide should be added to Gotovina's indictment. --PaxEquilibrium 12:27, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Lol, man; I've seen it on HRT the whole last day and in RTCG and RTS and Bosnian TV... even CNN reported it. :D --PaxEquilibrium 12:30, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
That's strange. I watched most of the 18-minute myself. In there Tudjman in detail explains how "if we attack them strongly, they'll generally all leave, the population, everyone, you know how it goes" and the bit about falsely guaranteeing civil rights "toboze jamciti prava" and then a laughter.
So far I've seen two traces of defense from Croatian War criminals at the Hague:
1) They say it's a fake (and it's authenticity was confirmed by the Croatian State Prosecutor and the Hague).
2) When they kept saying "Serbs", they only meant "Army" - again strange. Why would he call the army "the people" and falsely invite it to stay? --PaxEquilibrium 13:32, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

the argument is that the insects are not heard on the video when Tudjman speaks about organized propaganda against the Serbs. --PaxEquilibrium 13:35, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Here's the full text (from B92):

Then Gotovina goes: Predsedniče, u ovom trenutku mi kompletno s našom tehnikom kontroliramo Knin.

I think it speaks enough, and is only one bit of the whole speech... --PaxEquilibrium 13:43, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Racan

It's sad that he died... at least to my opinion.

BTW the situation of relations between Serbia and Croatia does not look good. Various shows have been recently on Serbian TV stations and they were all dedicated to Croatia. Discussions whether Croatia is extremely hostile to Serbia and the Serbs was main. As you know, Serbia had lodged an official protest against Croatia's campaigning to revise the decision of the ICJ regarding the Bosnian Genocide case, at the Brioni video made things only worse.

The extremist circles of Serbia (SRS) demand ceasing of all diplomatic relations with Croatia until the next election, and restore them if HDZ loses the election - and if it remains, keep it that way (not likely gonna happen though). --PaxEquilibrium 20:59, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Speedy delete abuse

Hello. Could you keep an eye on User:Laughing Man. I believe he has already used a speedy delete tag to delete an article about the association of volunteers from the war in RH (I'm not positive it was him, because it's gone from the edit history). Now he is trying to delete my Croatian Association of Prisoners in Serbian Concentration Camps, again citing notability (despite the fact that it is a well-known organization in Croatia, and "drustvo logorasa" gives about 500 google results). I can expand the article, but I have a feeling he'll manage to get it deleted before then. Thanks. --Thewanderer 15:53, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Please fix

Can i please ask you a favour?

These famous American people should be listed as being of Croatian origin on Wikipedia.

Peter Coe, Laura La Plante, Walter Kray, John Miljan and Michael Lah.

I have read on other websites that they are Croatian, so not sure why it has no mention of that fact on Wikipedia...

Please fix it - people respect your changes..mine get branded as POV hahaha

Keep up the great work

notability of the page about me

Hi, I just noticed your notability change to Martin_Krafft. Could you tell me what exactly annoys you? I did not make the page but I like having it around (it's about me after all). It was created in response to the publication of my book. I'd like for it to stay and I'd be happy to consider changing it.

Miljevci plateau incident

Thank You for expanding the article. I tried to clean this article on Serbian Wikipedia, which was POV obviously POV (because it was written by a boy who doesn't much care for NPOV). I put {{fact}} on Zrinski battalion and 4th Motorized Guard Brigade 'cause someone wrote that those units didn't participate in the incident (I've deleted those comments because of incivility ). If sources for those claims won't be presented, You can freely remove them from the article.

I admit that Serbian wikipedia isn't perfect, but nor Croatian nor Bosniak, too. My aim is to keep NPOV on Serbian wikipedia, and to influence on Croatian and Bosniak editors to do same. If You want something to correct or discuss on Serbian wikipedia, feel free to do it. Cheers. --BokicaK 07:21, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Notability of REACH Global Services

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on REACH Global Services, by Thewinchester, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because REACH Global Services seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting REACH Global Services, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate REACH Global Services itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 09:45, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Re: notability of the page about me

Fair enough, the point simply being that someone else actually created the page, I simply brushed it up. It mentions that I wrote a book about Debian and that I am studying volunteer motivation. Nothing else, really, except links to my blog etc. Given that Wikipedia is OSS and about community, don't you think my work is "notable"?

Just out of interest, what do you think of the page of Benjamin Mako Hill?

Also, while I understand that not everything should have a page on WP, what is the actual issue, providing that the content is accurate?

I hate having this discussion because I don't *need* a Wikipedia page and don't like self-inflation (which is kind of what I feel while having this discussion), but it was an honour to find out that I had one. Naturally, I would like to keep it, but I won't insist. I would appreciate if you could help me understand what's needed for my page to stay up.

Thanks for your comments. Now that both pages are tagged with a notability concern, could we look into where to go from here? What are the guidelines for biographies? Mako and I are both authors of notable books in their fields, both books being probably the best known references. Is it that OSS/Linux books are not "historical" or that OSS is too unimportant a field?

Thanks in advance, madduck 10:52, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

I discussed the matter with Mako at Debconf7 and we both agree that books which have sold as often as ours, and which are regarded standard references in their fields make the authors notable. I have thus removed the flag. If you disagree, feel free to put it back and help us figure out how to keep the pages.

Lipovac

PANONIAN 17:19, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Duja 13:59, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Flag

Well allegedly, the Croatian Flag hanged instead of the Serbian in the main hallway of the Parliament one Thursday. The National Assembly had been discussing it whole day. The SRS deputies couldn't stop talking about how the Speaker of the parliament shouldn't "express his national feelings in wrong places" and how "there is a place for those symbols", constantly accusing him that he put it there. Oliver explained that he wasn't even in Belgrade that day, but Milutin Mrkonjic of SPS was presiding the assembly back then. He said that no other flag than the Serbian will hang in the Parliament for as long as he is speaker and for the next thousand years. In the end it turned out that it was sort of a technical error. ;)))) --PaxEquilibrium 20:57, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

This abusive practice needs to be stopped! It is an ABUSE of the smtp standards. As most email and bounces are bogus it would help if wiki did not promote SPAM! Please stop promoting this spammer's paradise, it is used to mail bomb sites such as mine, this site does not accept bounces apart from known trusted sites. Serbs living in pre-war Croatia

Thanks for rewording the section on Serbs making up 29%. I still don't quite grasp it! Does it mean that the over-all Serb percentage in the SR Croatia was 12% - making up 29% specifically inside the territories they would declare independent? Evlekis 13:49, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

SFRJ

Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosnia-Herzegovina are one of the same thing. In this case the second one works better since the name fits in one line. Both are official and "Bosnia-Herzegovina" is gaining wider use. From UEFA soccer games to BBC News articles both which primarily use the second one. Shows that 95% of articles us B-H. I use it since I don't see "Bosnia and Herzegovina" nowhere as close on a level as "Serbia and Montenegro" (Which were two recognized states) used to be. However, both can be used. Comparison of Text Editors

..."emoved Vim column - no other editor supports it, ". That's the problem with your edits - they've taken on the tone of comp.editors, which long ago became a waste of time for discussing editors, since the vim-groupies only focus on discussing what _vim_ can do. To make your edits useful to other people, try doing some research to see what the other editors can do, and prune back the places where you're stretching the point to show that vim does it too. Petar Gojnikovic=Predimir

It seems you were right. Recent publishing of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts as well as archaeological discoveries document a shocking twist in history. Remains of the oldest known Serbian ruler, founder of the Viseslavics, Viseslav (780) were discovered in Prevlaka, dating to that very year (as a "dux"). The seal of Strojimir is uncovered to be from the territory of Doclea, as well as Mutimir. We know that the three brothers from the Vlastimirovic dynasty reigned Rascia, sons of Vlastimir - with Mutimir as head and the other two as "udeoni knezovi". It appears that Strojimir was in charge in Doclea. Another discovery is that in Serbia, Petar Gojnikovic was actually referred to as Predimir on one occasion. This all comes to explain a bit why is Petrislav in Byzantine sources also called "ruler of Serbia" - because he was referring to Petar Gojnikovic.

This is a bit pairing with the fact that unlike the other Dalmatian Duchies, there is absolutely no record of Doclea (apart from the unpreserved Liber Methodus) before the 10th century, and why precisely in Byzantine sources they write that it exists since the 9th - unlike the other Serb/Croat states, which all date mostly to early 7th century. It appears that Doclea draws its independence and statehood from the disappearance of Serbia in 924 to Bulgarian invasion...this explains a bit the "blank" and unique presentation of Doclea in DAI, as compared to the others. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 22:38, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Viseslav is put some time around 780, possibly up to 800. Almost nothing is known about him, he is the first recorded ruler - hence "House of Viseslavic". Apart from the discoveries of his insignia in then's territory of Doclea.
His only great-grandson Vlastimir (also Vladimir) ruled throughout the 9th century, possibly first half more than the second. He is mentioned around 850 and 852. Much is known about him - that he extended his rule to Travunia, that the border towards Dalmatian Croatia was somewhere beyond the river of Bosnia, that in 848-851 he led a three-year long defensive war against the Bulgarians, which were Serbian greatest allies up to then, during which Presian's Army he entirely destroyed (by hiding in inaccessible hills of eastern Herzegovina and modern-day Highland Montenegro). His proper realm was in northeastern Herzegovina, northern and eastern Montenegro and western to central Sandzak. Serb historians claim he ruled over all 4-5 principalities, however only Travunia is really documented. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 18:01, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
He had a daughter that married Prince Krajina of Travunia, Mutimir (the future ruler) and noblemen Strojimir and Gojnik. --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 18:17, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Hereby I report some abusive language and insults. Maybe few months late, but better soon then never.
This, user, 24.86.110.10, has shown trollish behaviour.
As you see, his contributions are mostly on talkpages (of articles and usertalk).
The content of these contributions is mostly NOT in English, almost every times contains personal attack against Croatian users and inflammatory content (content written solely to provoke unproductive discussion and arguing). Also, his contributions give no improvements to article.
Also, many times he wrote with capital letters (I suppose what that means in Internet culture - gives the feeling of shouting at the reader).
Maybe this reporting is relatively too late, but you have to see this.
Examples:
[1]on my usertalk, on 29 July 2007, 02:39, he uses these words "Hej, Direktore, nemoj se zivcirati zbog takvih govana kao sto su Kubura ili Ante P. ili Mir Kurven...".
Now a translation for English users: "Hey, Direktor, don't loose your nerve because of such shits like Kubura or Ante P. (note: Ante Perkovic) or Mir Kurven (it refers to Mir Harven). Kurven=Whoren.
Here [2], on 27 July 2007, on the talkpage of the article ORJUNA, [3], he expressed support for the terrorist organization ("May new ORJUNA be born in you soon"), as well as he posted inflammatory content, provoking Croatian users from Split ("Split is Yugoslavian!").
Here, he insulted the speakers of Croatian language. [4], on the talkpage of article Molise Croatian dialect, on 29 July 2007, 01:50. ("tzv. 'hrvatskog' - "so-called Croatian language").
Here, [5], on 28 July 2007, 07:33, on the talkpage of user Luka Jačov, he wrote the insult against Croatian user Ante Perkovic ("you can see now what kind of IDIOTS, like the one writing above ( Ante P.) ...They're either sick in their brain...Their rotten brains...Dear Luka, don't pay attention on those morons' cries ...".
Here, on 29 July 2007, 06:36, he wrote again the insult pointed against user Mir Harven [6], "tipova sa hrvatske wikipedije poput Kubure, Ante P., Mir Kurvena:))". Kurven=Whoren.
Here, he has posted inflammatory political content pointed to provoke and insult Croatian users [7], on 15 Aug 2007, 07:23, on the talkpage of user Zenanarh. ("Zadar... 1945. And since then it was YUGOSLAVIAN city, not croatian."). I don't have to explain you, you can see the provocation and trolling for yourself ("not croatian"?).
On the same talkpage, he posted an inflammatory message, message that brought nothing for the improvement of Wikipedia. [8], 15 Aug 2007, 07:24. ("HA, HA, HA!!! Sredio te Giovani! Neka te i dokrajci i tebe i sve kao ti na wikipediji") and and [9] on 15 Aug 2007, 07:28 ("HA, HA, HA, HA, Umrite prljavi cro-nacionalisti! VIVA GIOVANNI!"). Note that he didn't used English on the page. Also, on that page, he supports the behaviour of the troll Giovanni Giove (see RFARB/Dalmatia/Evidence why I call Giove as troll).
I think this unregistered troll acted from few more IP-accounts, but this above should be enough.
Please act as it's supposed to be done with users that repeatedly wrote explicit insults and abusive words and personal attacks ("shit", "whore", "sick brains"), disrespect en.wiki rules (not writing in English), show low internet culture (writing in capital letters), inflammatory messages and messages that do not improve Wikipedia (and no contributions to the articles). Wikipedia is not a forum. This troll should be banned from editing Wikipedia long ago. Kubura (talk) 08:34, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

And here, that unregistered troll [10], on the talkpage of article Shtokavian dialect, on 16 Aug 2007, 06:19, he calls user Mir Harven (" 'MIR KURVEN..OOPS, 'HARVEN' IS NOT ONE PERSON, BUT A GROUP OF CRIMINAL CATHOLIC FUNDAMENTALIST... RETARDS LIKE HIM AND THOSE FEW OTHER CRO-NATIONALIST RETARDS ...". Besides personal attacks and use of abusive words, now he in his persona attacks her calls the opponents as "criminals". To make it worse, he uses adjective "criminal" together with "Catholic fundamentalist".
This could be treated as an attack against Catholic community.
There you have it. Kubura (talk) 08:46, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Draza Mihailovich Nazi Fascist Chetnik

The Chetniks of D. Milhailovic were represented as fighters against the occupiers, while in actual fact they were allies of the Nazi-fascists in Yugoslavia where a nationwide people’s armed rising under Tito’s leadership had began as early as in July 1941; abundant archive materials of foreign provenience, primarily German, British, American and Italian, hitherto unknown to the public, have become accessible during the past three decades. These documents have made it possible to remove the veil of mystification that enshrouded the genuine role of D. Milhailovic’s Chetniks for so long. A large number of western historians and publicists are still writing very maliciously and untruthfully about the Chetniks of D. Milhailovic, concealing the very existence of the relevant archive materials which are available precisely and exclusively in western archives. At the same time certain emigrant Chetnik leaders, such as Ž. Topalovic, D. Jevdjevic, M. Žujovic, M. Djuic, Zv. Vuckovic and others have published memories and other works in the allied countries and in which they seek to conceal or justify Chetnik collaboration with the enemy invaders. http://www.croradio.net/cet.htm
