Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Cauci may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • Kay, Casey, etc. Casey has been a very popular 1st name in Ireland since at least Conn Cétchathach(Ked Kaya{see}, or Conn of the Hundred Battles, as in Brian Boru brother, Cathasach(Cahassy).

Cauci

[edit]

Your repeated edits at Cauci are not even wrong. Please stop it.

Cauci, or more correctly Kaukoi, can't possibly be pronounced "Cahassey". First, the second c cannot be pronounced as an s because it's not actually a c. The text is in Greek, and it's a kappa, which can only be pronouced k. The Greek of the Geography survives and can be read at any university library. Secondly, you're inserting an extra syllable that has no reason or justification to be there. Third, we know the derivation of the name "Casey" and it doesn't come from Cauci or anything like it.

Almost as important as it being factually incorrect, it's the very definition of original research, which is not appropriate for Wikipedia. Everything must be referenced to a reliable source. And even if the facts were correct and well-referenced, your first person writing is not appropriate for an encyclopedia. --Nicknack009 (talk) 20:24, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
