Hi Jppcap,

You deleted our company page twice without giving a reason. Is there any reason why a registered US company cannot have a Wikipedia page that Im not aware of?

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaghadiuno (talkcontribs) 17:12, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for edit on the Mantiis page. There is, however, a problem I hope you may help me overcome. Even though using the Find Links Tool renders no results, the page is not an orphan at all, since there are two other pages linking to it: Obsidian Kingdom and Jens Bogren. How is it possible that the Find Links Tool doesn't find them? I would really appreciate you helping me to fix this so the Orphan Tag may be removed. Tank you! Aelegria (talk) 10:07, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"What links here" for Mantiis correctly shows those two incoming article links - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Mantiis - and I have removed the "Orphan" tag. JohnCD (talk) 11:17, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Just Energy

[edit]

You made an edit today to Just Energy to change the number of customers from 4.4 million to 2 million. The citation you included states,

The company has managed to grow its customer base from 1.7 million in 2008 to 4.5 million in 2013

Either you or I are misreading the citation, and there's a very good chance it's me. I edited it to reflect the 4.5 million number. If you think I made a mistake with my edit, please just let me know. Thanks for your time! --Yamla (talk) 22:35, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hope Rehab Center Thailand marked for deletion

[edit]

Hi thank you for contributing, but I cannot understand why you have so heavily edited the article and marked it for deletion. Especially as global media sources have made contact with HRCT, it has been talked about in recent published news-articles such as the WESTERN AUSTRALIAN and South East Asian Globe. Paul Garrigan is an author who specialise in the field of addiction and is the author of two published books on the subject matter and therefore is a good source. [1]

References

WP:GNG states the topic needs significant media coverage that addresses the topic directly and in detail. Many of the sources do not address HRCT at all and the ones that do, do not go into any detail. Jppcap (talk) 00:51, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Suppression of referenced material on Galerie Gmurzynska

[edit]

I wonder if you would kindly intervene in this page again. As I mentioned on your talk page before (now deleted?), this article had achieved a settled form after an edit warring problem in 2014, but recently, as before, it has been subject to insider editing in an attempt to give it a purely commercial/promotional function. In particular, user Jabba1212 is very keen to suppress references to the smuggling of a major Russian archive, that of Nikolai Khardzhiev by the gallery's present owners. This important event is, as far as I can see, the only time that Galerie Gmurzynska has attracted media attention of a non-commercial nature in serious publications - the New Left Review, The Daily Telegraph, etc. As you have already radically cut the material on this and other controversies involving Gmurzynska in your reasonable efforts to avoid POV, I trust by the same token that you will not allow Wikipedia to be abused as an advertising space with significant, documented material being airbrushed by those with a commercial rather than an informational motivation. Grammophone (talk) 18:51, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reaching out, Grammophone. I don't think we've spoken outside of Talk:Galerie Gmurzynska, but nice to hear from you. I haven't been around much today, so just now noticing all the edits you mentioned. It looks like you got to most of it, but I did find a promo paragraph added back to Hist. by this user and one of the longer quotes in Contro. added back too. I'll cut those and keep a close eye on this one too. Thanks. Jppcap (talk) 21:03, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this. I have made one further minor edit in order to clarify the date of the Khardzhiev smuggling operation. I trust this is sufficiently non-POV. As you may have noticed, the insider editing of this page, as well as censoring episodes like this, seems to think that references are an opportunity to secrete links to irrelevant promotional material, as opposed to verifying claims made. It still has an overall feeling of "advertorial" to me, but I am generally satisfied, so long as sock-puppetry and blatant insider whitewashing of documented facts is kept at bay. As you say, this will require careful monitoring. Grammophone (talk) 23:21, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article rejection - DDoS Mitigation Techniques

[edit]

Your rejection for "seems to not comply" isn't reason.. the article does not promote any person, organization it only highlights various high level techniques available. Also does not present itself as an authority on the matter but provides enough detail and technical information to be of value to the readers. I suggest you reconsider..and spend a bit of time reading the article yourself in detail. All references were included. Steve Oates, CISSP, MPS (Masters in Cyber Information Security and Assurance) <ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDoS_Mitigation_Techniques/ref>

Undisclosed paid editing is not allowed

[edit]

I know this account hasn't been used for a while, but it may benefit those who read this talk page to see that this user has been named by the Wall Street Journal as an undeclared paid editor, which would violate Wikipedia's policies:

File permission problem with File:Anthony Scaramucci - World Economic Forum.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Anthony Scaramucci - World Economic Forum.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:18, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:St. Jude Medical logo.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused and superseded by File:St. Jude Medical logo.svg

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
