Request reason:

I logged on to Wikipedia today to find that I was bloxked for sockpuppetry. Why is this so? I have not done anything wrong as all of my edits have been legitimate edits against vandalism on wikipedia. If Wikipedia is blocking everyone who reverts vandalism just because they know someone who vandalises (as I do. I may know who purpulgarillerjoos is, but our editing practises are very different) what will become of it? I am requesting an unblock as I am a completely different person to purpulgarillerjoos as well as the restoration of My userpages. Regards, Jsteel7 (talk) 10:17, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Based on the Checkuser results in this case, no fewer than 19 confirmed socks have shown up, plus a slew of friends via meatpuppeting with their own cast of sockpuppets. You might want to find another hobby as it isn't likely you will ever get unblocked. Declined based on these SPI findings, which match up much more than just IP address or a common location. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Important Note for Reviewing Administrator's and other users There is currently a sockpuppet investigation filed Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jsteel7 and looking at the multiple abuse of user accounts, looks like all of them are surely going to be confirmed, blocked and tagged when the investigation completes which will give an open transparency to everyone to see. Thank you. TheGeneralUser (talk) 21:41, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The page entitled Random Magazine was vandalised by an editor alleged to be one of your sockpuppets, and reverted by you using this account some two minutes later. This article has only a few contributors bver the last three years, and none of them were you. Why/how were you so quickly aware of this vandalism? --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 22:20, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The way I was easily able to correct vandalism on random magazine was because it was done by one of my friends sitting right next to me. I noticed it right away, so I undid it. That is why it happened really quick. Jsteel7 (talk) 00:54, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Purpulgarillerjoos is the actual puppetmaste. I may be his friend, but I don't edit Wikipedia as recklessly as he does. Eletric monkey 1 is also a different person to purpulgarillerjoos, but still one of my friends. My editing practises are anti-vandalism, not sock-puppetry and vandlism. While some of the accounts may have been made on an IP adress that I use, they were not made by me, rather they were made by purpulgarillerjoos.
Based on these comments, I would wait on reviewing the block until the CU has had a chance to review. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 18:24, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
CU is how the socks were identified in the first place. It's now up to the community to determine whether Jsteel7's story holds water. At the very least he's got poor choice in friends. --jpgordon::==( o ) 21:20, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have learnt my lesson and I promise not to use sockpuppets again Jsteel7 (talk) 3:28 am, Today (UTC−5)

If this claim is as trustworthy as your initial claim that you weren't using them in the first place... well. - Vianello (Talk) 14:32, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Username Usurpation[edit]

Request for usurpation[edit]

Hello, Jsteel7. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because another user would like to use it to edit. The changing username guideline allows a username that is not being actively used to be usurped if the user is given an opportunity to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to use the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request may be filled shortly, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation. Any objection on your part will prevent usurpation.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

Thank you for your time. NSWTrainsFan (talk)Contribs 08:53, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
