This ref [1] which looks at 8 patients does not really support that this is the cornerstone of treatment "The cornerstone of the treatment of uric acid stone is raising urinary pH, decreasing the acidity. Even very large uric acid stones can melt away with urinary alkalization. Allopurinol and febuxostat decrease uric acid production and can have a role as a second line therapy."

Per WP:MEDRS we use secondary sources such as this one [2] but it also does not really say it is the cornerstone of treatment. Thoughts? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 06:22, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
