Account creator[edit]

Sometimes if a lot of people at one place try to make new accounts suddenly, there can be a block on making new accounts. If this happens at your conference you will need account creator status and need to create your participants' Wikipedia accounts from your own account.

Please request the userright at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Account creator. When requesting permission say that you need it because you are organizing a group editing event.

On the day of the event, if people report being blocked from making accounts, make accounts for them by being logged in on your computer then giving your computer to them for a minute to register at Special:CreateAccount.

To mediate this, encourage people to create Wikipedia accounts in advance of the event. Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:39, 28 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello![edit]

Hi this is User:OR drohowa, also known as Dorothy Howard. It was nice to talk to you about your new project and Edit-a-thon at Ohio State. Please feel free to write on my talk page User talk:OR drohowa with any questions you have. My previous Wikipedian-in-Residence project was Wikipedia:GLAM. Otherwise, my email is on my Userpage! Best wishes. OR drohowa (talk) 15:56, 28 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Account creator granted[edit]

After reviewing your request for the "account creator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:

  • The account creator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The account creator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the account creator right will result in its removal by an administrator.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the account creator right. Happy editing! MusikAnimal talk 19:10, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note the user right will be procedurally removed sometime after the 8 June event. Hope the edit-a-thon is a success! MusikAnimal talk 19:10, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, note that the account creator userright has been removed from your account. When you have another upcoming event, please request the userright again at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Account creator. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:10, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A cup of coffee for you![edit]

Can I help you with something? I saw you posted a request for user right assistance. Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:00, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
