A tag has been placed on Eastern (Byzantine) Catholic Martyrology for October, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Stop creating the page with nothing but "COMING SOON". Create the page when there's useful content you can put in it. --W.marsh 05:17, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is understandable and accepted. I was just attempting to create the pages to ensure their existence. I will re-create them over the next couple of days as I add the content. Juiceman44 05:33, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Basil Schott[edit]

Thanks for contributing to the article on Basil Schott.

I have cut out a few phrases which were not really suited to an encyclopedia article. For example, I removed this: This event was inspired by his zeal to offer an occasion to build up the faith and spirit of the clergy. The gathering will be a lasting testimony to his care for both the priests and the people whom they serve and his commitment to and love for the Church.

WP seeks to emphasize documented facts, already published in independent reliable sources, and presented with a neutral point of view. Predictions about the future are, of course, opinion. It is legitimate to mention opinions in an article, however, if their sources can be identified. In general, there should be references for all the substantial assertions in the article.

Again, thanks and welcome. -- Chonak (talk) 05:11, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Archbishopbasilschott.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Archbishopbasilschott.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:48, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have added information for the fair use rationale, using the standard template. I hope it will suffice. - Chonak (talk) 00:46, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
