A tag has been placed on Eastern (Byzantine) Catholic Martyrology for October, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Basil Schott[edit]

Thanks for contributing to the article on Basil Schott.

I have cut out a few phrases which were not really suited to an encyclopedia article. For example, I removed this: This event was inspired by his zeal to offer an occasion to build up the faith and spirit of the clergy. The gathering will be a lasting testimony to his care for both the priests and the people whom they serve and his commitment to and love for the Church.

WP seeks to emphasize documented facts, already published in independent reliable sources, and presented with a neutral point of view. Predictions about the future are, of course, opinion. It is legitimate to mention opinions in an article, however, if their sources can be identified. In general, there should be references for all the substantial assertions in the article.

Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
