Peer Review

[edit]

Under personal life, overall it is well written so far but some the language seems a little too informal for a Wikipedia page, for example maybe finding a better sentence for explaining him coming from a poor family. Also under career, I was a little confused by the links, or those your sources for a future post you will make about his career? Another thing is I have noticed on many Wikipedia pages references are usually the last thing you see, under it though is articles, are those articles he has worked on or articles we have used as a reference? LexiKincaid (talk) 21:15, 14 October 2016 (UTC) I would also maybe add some of the content in the summary to his personal life or other sections, to make the summary less dense and more focused in. Feedback

[edit]

Nice start expanding that article. A few things that could use improvement

  • When writing biographical articles, please follow the layout that’s recommended on page 3 of the Editing Biographies handout linked above.
  • Every statement in Wikipedia articles needs to be directly connected with a reliable source that supports the statement.
  • The tone of some of your additions isn't appropriate for an encyclopedia article. For example

Ali Salem came from a very big and poor family composed of two parents and eight brothers and sisters

isn't appropriate. Words like "very" should be avoided, because they rarely mean anything specific. Saying something like

Salem was one of eight children born to a poor family in Cairo

would be better (provided that it was supported by a reliable source).
  • Wikipedia articles shouldn't use euphemisms for death like "passed away" or "lost". At the same time, saying something like

    Finally, Ali Salem passed away...

    is needlessly harsh.
  • The article is in serious need of copyediting, and it incomplete
  • Section headers use sentence capitalization, not title capitalization; only the first word of the title, and proper nouns, should be capitalized.
