Thanks for uploading File:Gowind class frigate for malaysian navy.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Disambiguation link notification for September 9[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kora-class corvette, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Igla. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

GOWIND 2[edit]

Replaceable fair use File:Gowind fair use.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gowind fair use.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 13:05, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

October 2014[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically File:Gowind fair use.jpg, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. See WP:NFCC#10c. --Stefan2 (talk) 13:07, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy![edit]

Howdy! FYI, your edits to South China Sea pages may well be facts, but with the exception of the edit you made a few minutes ago, they contain NO supporting references, and they read like they are simply your own opinion. Please be more careful - less neutral editors than me, (and possibly me too), are likely to revert edits that do not have supporting references. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 14:28, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for including no references, I'm pretty sure i've seen them on an american website just can't remember it now, I'll add it back when i find it. Thanks for the note — Preceding unsigned comment added by Junchuann (talkcontribs) 14:34, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply! Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 09:01, 11 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear. In general, I agree with you. BUT, "It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it", and (unfortunately) you are still too new to this weird environment to understand the sillinesses required. (e.g. Next section.) I'm happy to provide you with background history (and my opinion) any time you have a good idea. I will probably agree with you that it is a good idea. However, I will probably then try to explain to you why I was unsuccessful in executing such a good idea. Best Wishes, Pdfpdf (talk) 14:03, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article moves[edit]

Please do not make controversial unilateral page moves. Start a requested move discussion on the article talk page, and gain community consensus first. --benlisquareTCE 11:44, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think that changing the name from Taiping Island to Itu Aba Island is considered controversial because using a neutral name instead of a name used by one claimant only is the norm for all islands of the spratly islands dispute and I am simply putting it back into the norm.
It doesn't matter what you believe is correct in your opinion, these moves require due process which involves proper community dialogue. Per Wikipedia's rules, you must properly discuss this proposed move, and gain consensus. --benlisquareTCE 11:50, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, I didn't realise there was a discussion and the move was supported, so much for neutrality.
Based on Wikipedia policy, article titles do not have to be neutral; rather, they must adhere to WP:COMMONNAME. For example, Falkland islands is not a "neutral" title, and neither is United States pro-life movement. It is article page content which must be neutral and balanced towards each relevant side. --benlisquareTCE 12:09, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

GOWIND 3[edit]

License tagging for File:Gowind 600x400.jpeg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gowind 600x400.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:05, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Gowind 600x400.jpeg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Gowind 600x400.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Non-free rationale for File:Gowind fair use.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Gowind fair use.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 07:58, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Gowind 4[edit]

1) Further to your posting on my talk page on 21 October 2014, have you resolved the problem, or do you still need help?

2) I did some "homework" on the scenario. (Some would call it "research" ... )

a) I can't seem to access http://en.dcnsgroup.com/press/new-dcns/. Can you supply me with a URL to the original 1000x667 pixels photo?
b) The WikiCommons admin who has been helping you has made the same comment and request.
