emigrate

[edit]

Mr. Yavner,

Emigrate is indeed an English word. Please see this link: [1]. It means "to leave one's place of residence or country to live elsewhere". The related word to this is immigrate, which means "to come into a country of which one is not a native for permanent residence". You are correct that emigrate should only have one "m" not two. --YUL89YYZ 14:18, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jyavner, I was wondering whether you were interested in joining and developing a new WikiProject. While the more-established WikiProject Judaism focuses on relgious aspects of Judaism, this project intends to look at Jewish literature, music, theater, language and history, among other aspects of culture. If you are interested in helping to edit and review these articles, please join! jnothman talk 06:06, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
