Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! March 2015[edit]

Hello, I'm Bentogoa. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Sophia Webster  with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Bentogoa (talk) 18:50, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sophia Webster[edit]

If you are editing Sophia Webster as a representative of Webster or her PR team - something that your edit summaries suggest you are - please be aware that such editing is against Wikipedia policy. Articles must be neutral in tone, and based on reliable, third-party sources that have been published under editorial control. Wikipedia is not a place for re-posting press releases, promotional copy, or publicity material. In addition, your editing shows a complete lack of understanding of how the site works, as you are simply overwriting coding and data with copyright-violating cut-and-paste edits, meaning that rather than improving the page, you are doing quite the opposite. Please look at the links given in the welcome message, as if you continue editing like this, especially after two editors have separately advised you, it will appear as if you are simply being disruptive.

If you are a representative of Sophia Webster, this does not mean that you can't edit - but it does mean that you should not edit your employer or client's page unless under exceptional circumstances (such as to remove vandalism, or anything libelous). You can request edits or changes on Talk:Sophia Webster but please give us proper references for the requested edits. Don't just tell us it's on Sophia's website because that is a primary source - for the same reasons, press-releases and ad-copy are not good sources unless in exceptional circumstances. Do look at Talk:Louise Kennedy to see how an editor with a conflict of interest was able to work with Wikipedia to negotiate edits and updates to ensure that the page was kept accurate and current without compromising the reputation of her employer/the article subject, or placing herself at risk of sanctions. I am very happy to work with you to help maintain this page and ensure that edits are appropriate and accurate, but I need you to understand how Wikipedia works.
