यह परिहार (प्रतिहार) वंश की एक खांप हैं। महाराजा अमायक के सातवें पुत्र किल्हन जी ने किलोई गाँव बसाया जिसे वे व उनके वंशज किलो या किलोया या कलहंस क्षत्रिय कहे जाने लगे।कलहंस वंश की गोंडा जिले मे छह रियासतें थीं। इसी लिए यहाँ पर इस वंश के छह द्वारे प्रसिद्ध है।(नवीन राजपूत इतिहास आसूसिंह दीनवा पृष्ठ १४१) इतिहास के अनुसार इस गोंडा पर कलहंस वंश का भी शासन रहा । कलहंस क्षत्रिय बस्ती ,गोंडा ,बहराइच जनपदों में बसे पाए जाते है । कलहंस क्षत्रियो ने अपने पितामह राणा मोकल के नाम पर मोकलपुर गाँव बसाया जो गोंडा के निकट है और आज भी उन्ही के नाम से जाना जाता है । कलहंस क्षत्रियो ने अपने वंश के गौरव के प्रतीक नगर गोगुंडा के नाम पर गोंडा नगर की स्थापना की ।कल्हंसो ने कलहंस की राजधानी कोड्सा (वर्तमान खुरासा) में बसाई । कल्हंसो के राजा सहज सिंह के पश्चात् क्रमशः शक्ति सिंह ,हरपाल सिंह ,भैरो भान सिंह ,हरनाथ सिंह ,हरसुख राय तथा अचल नारायण सिंह ने लगभग 200 वर्षो तक गोंडा पर राज किया । अचल नारायण सिंह की मृत्यु के बाद इस वंश का राज्य समाप्त हो गया । अंग्रेजों के शासन काल में बसहर इनका छोटा राज्य था। वर्तमान में इस वंश के क्षत्रिय गोंडा,बस्ती,गोरखपुर,बहराइच,प्रतापगढ़,उत्तर प्रदेश में,व बिहार में आरा,छपरा,भागलपुर ,शाहबाद आदि जिलों में बसते हैं।(राजपूत वंशावली पृ.१२६)

The Gorchha are a caste found in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. They are also known as Gurcha and Gurchhiya. They are a small tribe confined to Lakhimpur Kheri District in northern Uttar Pradesh. According to their traditions, the Gorchha are by origin Kalhans Rajputs, who immigrated from Gorakhpur to Kheri, and were known as Gorakhiya, or someone hailing from Gorakhpur. Over time this was corrupted to Gorchha. Their ancestors are supposed to have left Chittor in Rajasthan, and settled in Awadh to escape from Delhi Sultanate forces. Their earliest settlement was at Gorakhpur, from where they emigrated to Kheri.
The Gorchha are now completely distinct from their parent community, the Kalhans Rajputs, and now form a distinct endogamous caste. There customs are similar to other Awadhi Hindus, speaking the Awadhi language and practicing clan exogamy. The Gorchha are divided into three gotras or clans, the Kalhans, the Kanaujiya and the Subhan. All of these are of equal status and intermarry.
