Proposed deletion of Eunice Katherine M. Ernst[edit]

The article Eunice Katherine M. Ernst has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Eunice Katherine M. Ernst article - some thoughts[edit]

Hi, thanks for writing this article! I see you are editing Wikipedia on a university course and I hope this is going well. A few thoughts:

  1. This person seems clearly very notable and a good subject for a Wikipedia article, so really what this article needs is more information.
  2. The article needs some more citations and descriptions of her work. Looking for sources, she seems very notable, but many sources call her "Kitty Ernst". You should list this common name for her, and add sources like this, this, this and this, which all look really interesting.
  3. You might want to move this article to Kitty Ernst (use the move control at top right of the page) or alternatively set up a redirect from there to this article. You can do either - I would decide which name for her is more used and put the main page at that location.
  4. Delete the first and last paragraphs. Wikipedia articles should start by introducing their subject specifically (that's a guide), but the article starts by an essay-like introduction that doesn't introduce this person but you and why you are writing.
  5. Add some categories. You might want to look at Wikipedia articles of people in comparable positions for idea about what to add. I think about five or six categories would be a good target to help people find this page.
  6. Once you've done that, you've fixed the problems with the article that the previous contributor identified above, and you can remove their deletion proposal.

Hope that's OK, let me know if you have any thoughts or questions. Blythwood (talk) 05:02, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello KFunk. Thanks for contributing the article on Eunice Katherine M. Ernst. I have declined the proposed deletion, removed some inappropriate material from the article and given "Kitty" as an alternative name. Blythwood's advice above is all good. Let one of us know if you want help in moving the article. Good luck with developing this article further! Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 16:52, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
